So you're saying we were bad and made Woolwich look good. But we were good and made Villa look bad?
not sensing any double standards or hypocrisy there at all.
Let's just play one game and end season instantly since there's no way teams can improve. If you played one bad game the other 37 are going to be bad as well.
You really didn't see ANY improvement in Villa game compared to Woolwich?
Woolwich were bottom of the table, they got 6 scrappy unconvincing points later, just like we got our 9 at the start. They sucked hard, and they still suck, but the fact Nuno got it all wrong allowed them to actually look good.
And we have Villa that had decent games and deserved the points they had, and against us they didn't look good at all. I can't really convince you this way, I know. You'd just have to watch these games and compare everything bit by bit, for me it's clear that the result we got was because of our decent game, not their fuck up.

Lucky for Nuno despite some of the awful performances we are towards the top of the table and not many pts off those teams that are far better than us.

For me that shows we have good players.

If we have Kane/Son firing. If we finally get all those defenders to play at their highest level and get the likes of Ndombele/Lo Celso in their stride then maybe we can do well.

But most importantly the attitude from Nuno has to be right. He needs to be playing the right players. Selecting the right formations and most importantly giving off the right vibes. Telling the team to be attacking. Play to our strengths. Give the fans what they want.
If we play attacking football the fans will get behind the team and that helps the team even more.

However, if we continue to see boring football the fans will not get behind the team and it will not get the best out of the players.

Formations and mentality from Nuno are important in getting the best out of some actually decent players.

I don't dispute we made them look better than they are, we were truly woeful.
But Villa fans are probably looking at their performance against us and saying exactly he same.

To suggest we're in control to the extent we chose when to get beaten and when to win is over rating us.

Pardew is a better dancer.

You know we'll be miles off the pace by January. Every now and then we'll win 2 or 3 in a row and start working out the maths to get back into top 4 and we'll bottle it at the first hurdle.

Yeah I'm just trying to give a bit of positivity

To be honest a lot of other teams seem to be a bit inconsistent
Man U and Man City some games seem a bit off it this season.
Leicester aren't exactly having a great season
West Ham are well suffering from Europe
Woolwich and Everton like us very hit and miss

I don't rate Nuno at all but if he goes with the attitude of Sunday then we will do better.

Watched the game after the event. It’s always easy to say we bested them because we won. There were a few green shoots but we still look weak in midfield. Sonny had an absolute banger of a game
If he doesn’t set the stadium alight with some fantastic football, then we were still poor in parts.
Sonny is a God like player on his day. But we know he is streaky. He can go from utter turd to unplayable and back again in a week or two.

Under Poch we were the sum of our parts.

Under Jose we looked like a load of spare parts after the new manager bounce settled.

Under Nuno I have no idea what we are. Beat City with a great rearguard performance to losing against the scum with the most inexplicable shit you can imagine.

Still in touching distance of the top 4. But playing utter shit at times. And boring too most of the time until we take off the shackles. Then we look great in parts.

Maybe he can stamp his brand on the players but I’m totally baffled now. Always feel like we are one more performance from taking that next step or going back to square one.

He's not a terrible player, but he's a limited player. Quality on the ball is not his thing, but he's full of energy and tricks and his athletic ability is ridiculous.
Defenders hate someone like that, especially around the edge of the box or inside the box. Speed and trickery in an attacker is always a scare for defenders unless they are blessed with pace to burn.

There's a good 70% chance that this is the plan. At least Levy's plan.

I could easily see Fabio and Hitchen drawing up a list of names only for Levy to tell them to wait and see regarding Mauricio.

This would be so stupid. I loved Pochettino but we can't be bringing him back so soon, it would be utterly ludicrous. Watford level incompetence when it comes to managers and not knowing what the feck you want from them.
