People said it was only Vitesse when I said it was lunacy to not bring most the squad and that it signalled that no player who was playing on Thursday had a chance at playing this weekend. Then we have a lacklustre performance by our first 11 who could not be risked. Nuno is a complete doughnut and should never have been employed. The fact is Levy is clueless about everything relating to football but I am seriously questioning how he thought this would not be a disaster of an appointment.
There is going to be a massive split in the squad if this keeps up, the atmosphere will only get worse due to all their massive egos IMO.

It actually wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to force the hand of a lot of the ones not selected to play much in the league and I suspect things are already a bit toxic just from what I see on the pitch.

Not happy. But for context:

Pochettino was 11th at this point of his first season.
67% possession and 18 attempts on goal in that 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle.

Said it before. There's not one single manager on the planet that could get the current squad playing football.
Yesterday I found myself watching jermaine defoes top 5 goals for the club and I was longing for the days when we had him, lennon, Bale, ledders, vdv, walker, Scott Parker. The club didn't win anything but that squad played the way football supports want their team to play. There must have been a feel good factor at the club back then and it isn't there anymore
The amount of people brainwashed into thinking the squad is bad is remarkable.

Is it Chelsea/Liverpool/City? No.

But how many players from West Ham start in our squad? 2-3 out of 11? Brentford is playing better football than us. Are you going to say that squad is better than Spurs?

This squad is easily 5th or 6th best in the league. The fact that we’ve had bad managers doesn’t change that.

A combined XI?

Lloris
Cresswell Zouma Romero Coufal
Soucek Rice
Bowen Benrahma Son
Kane

A little deceptive as Son, Kane and Lloris are a country mile better than West Ham's guys, whereas PEH, Skipp and Ndombele are quite close, but still.

(Also the one West Ham player that would improve us the most might well be Lanzini who I've always rated and who is the exact kind of player we're missing)

hmm so it’s Nuno fault?. Squad failed with poch failed with Mourinho failed with Nuno. Let’s face it royal and reguillon can’t defend. Moura should have been moved on years ago. Ndmobele is a burst. just cause you spend 40m on a player doesn’t make him brilliant ffs.

And sorry to go on but I am really pissed after today as West ham were just Frkin burnley, but moyes is brilliant Had one chance thanks to reguillon Frkin it all up yet again. They are Frkin horrible. But then again we have no midfield no gameplan no identify.

reailty is a bunch of over paid players who really don’t care what any of us think. They get paid 100 grand a week regardless and don’t care if they win or lose while we pay their wages.

Outside of Kane amd Son I am not sure who else people think would get in to any other club in the top 6? please don’t say lo Celso ffs he is The epitome of mailing it in. Least dele delivered for a few seasons. Lomcelsom50m and 5m a year and he really,y doesn’t give two fooks.

Surely someone like Howe could have easily been convinced though? I get that we had a list and most wouldn't come for various reasons. But surely there were better options than him still?
Maybe but again not a front runner for the job, not someone the club really wants, how much better could he do with the personnel we have?

Do you honestly believe we actually approached all of the people you read about they all turned down big money at a "big" club?

Rubbish. We fucked around, acted like complete amateurs, changed our minds and ended up looking like completely prats.
Maybe some of them actually refused a solid offer but the rest were more likely off the cuff comments to a camera rather than a job offer.
It's not just about big money it's about working for ENIC. Someone like Rodgers would never leave Leicester to come to us. We sack Mourinho a week before a cup final to avoid paying him a bonus and replace him with a novice. What kind of message does it send out? Every manager they employ ends up disappointed at the way they do transfer business. This kind of shit adds up, word gets around.

Its clear the whole Kane saga has affected the squad. Rumours that he is not very well liked in the dressing room came out long before Mourinho took over and it does feel that he thinks he is above the club.

Starting the champions league final when he was clearly unfit essentially undermined the rest of the squad and its probably the catalyst that led to the players no longer playing for Poch.

At his best, Kane is of course a better striker than our current 'level' - but he isn't playing anywhere near his best.

Dropping Kane won't make him fight for his place - he doesn't want it.

We need to sell and reinvest ASAP.

I don't want the manager here
from Levy's point of view what would Levy get from sacking the manager and getting a caretaker in ?
cost in sacking the manager & his coaching team,
cost of new manager & coaches
to gain what top 6 ? how much is that worth ?
Levy only see's £'s and he wants to be seen as winner in every deal
