This is subject to a 48 hour medical, a criminal background check, further contract negotiations, agreement to employ 7 of his top, top men and Mr Levy finding a way to convince him there is money to spend even though there isn't.

Indeed, we don't know the details, but perhaps the 18+12 months isn't actually that far off from a 3-year guaranteed contract, especially if the option is Conte's. All I surmise is that he's in a good bargaining position so I assume if the terms are as reported, it's something he's willing to play ball with.
This can only be due to Levy and Co concluding they fucked up now getting him first and with Newcastle now basically guaranteed to start competing soon, realizing this may be a last chance saloon dice roll.

If its an 18 month deal then logical we still have poch in mind long term. Unless conte wins us loads of trophies. Nuno had to go.
One thing for sure conte wont put up with kanes antics. Hes seen it all before in his career and will swiftly replace him. Big appointment by club if we get him.

Conte is the only manager in world football wo truly freaks me out. He possesses a rare mentality where he will always instantly escalate without any restraint if he has any perception that you are fucking with him even a little tiny bit. Total fucking dominance through the fact the opponent, whoever they may be, can at best come out of it badly and with huge embarassment, whereas Conte genuinely does not give a fuck what people think, if anything he enjoys the negative attention. Levy doesn't realise what he's dealing with. It will be an absolute blood bath this appointment, and I think it's brilliant.
With the increase in short term appointments, 18-24 months deals at the start will become more and more normal. Especially for coaches that are currently unemployed. Touchel, Poch, Conte etc all have/had no job and took short term opening contracts
