It worked because Nuno had Jiminez and not a luxury striker like Kane. They fell off a cliff after Jiminez went down with his injury last season and Nuno got sacked. Jiminez is the main reason why it worked for Nuno at Wolves.

When Kane goes down, Spurs have a better record as long as Son is playing and go to the CL final without him.
They are both different types of players. With Nuno football, Kane is completely unsuitable as he lacks the pace/mobility. Lets see how Conte(or whoever it is) gets the team playing. Maybe he will figure out a way to get the best out of our players.

1_ We should have appointed him months ago. Better late than never, but we have just wasted weeks and weeks of the season and a manager is always better having his own pre-season.
2. Without a few top class signings it doesn't matter who's in charge. Conte will get a bit more out of the squad than Mourinho and Nuno did, of that I have no doubts, but he's not a miracle worker. Now we need to back him and give him money to spend otherwise he may as well have come with his hands tied behind his back.
But I do agree that it's a step in the right direction in regards to getting something out of Kane once again. If he's not inspired to play for an elite manager like Conte then he might as well retire. Kane, for me, is still our second best player at worst if he finds some form and motivation to play for the club.

If Conte can't bring him back from the dead for us, nobody can. Harry's now in the last chance saloon in regards to any sort of legacy with us. There's a vast different between playing for a manager like Nuno Santo than there is with Conte. It's up to Kane now. Get back on the horse and be the player we know he can be, or get shipped out and fuck off.
