Players looked absolutely gassed in the 2nd half.
Fucking unacceptable, hopefully Conte gets them in shape. Quickly.

Which is a ridiculous fucking concept considering the wages they're earning.
For that money, even my fat ass would be tip top...

The problem is that some players will look even more out of shape as the rest get fitter.

There’s certain members of the squad who won’t be able to play at this pace, ever

Well, you really showed me there, didn't you...

Maybe, you would like to review my website, there are hundreds of peer reviewed white papers on nutrition in relation to biological optimisation???

Or, shut up or put me on ignore, you topical buffoon (Conte's way's was what started this, so you are essentially arguing against his methods here), as you have nothing to contribute.

So much waffle on that website I could open my own breakfast diner.

And yeah, I think I'll take that advice. Anybody who claims to have cracked the da vinci code when it comes to nutritional science is chatting shit, period. The level of research and data existing on the topic is so slim that conclusions practically change weekly. None of the shit you're claiming is actually proven, not one single bit.

All you're doing is potentially giving people eating disorders by making them afraid of certain food types, so congratulations on that! Big round of applause. I won't engage with you further as it may encourage you to spout more poorly researched shite.

That article sums up my feelings on nearly all nutritional science. Your type is just pure fiction though.

Basically zero nutritional science holds up to replication and scrutiny.

A nutritional cunt-off. That’s new.

It's a big part of what Conte is bringing to Spurs! I hope...

Lean, more running, less protein, Conte's message appears.

I remember during the olympics, Michael Phelps was consuming like 10,000 calories a day full of pancakes and other junk.

Maybe he'd have made another Olympics if he'd used better balance, maybe he was loading with mad minerals to buffer all those carbs/sugars, maybe he was taking pepsin etc for protein assimilation??? So many maybe's, but he was performing peak, who in our squad does that week to week, game to game, beyond Son (who I bet does not pig out ever, his dad would whip him!!!).

Phelps is much more like a boxers, big events with big gaps possible, not the gruelling 2x weekly football events. Chiefly, in swimming there is no impact risk, so you may bear higher uric etc without at high risk of injury, compared to football, apples and pears, steak and pig...

Zola, Vialli, De Canio were successful Italians in the PL but few make it, compared to Spanish, French.

Lamela averaged a goal or assist every 130 minutes during his final season at Roma but has managed only a goal or assist every 252 minutes with Spurs.

The lesson from all this, albeit from a relatively small sample size, is simple: don't buy from Serie A.

It's not simply about under-performance -- often, the players don't even break into their Premier League sides.

Realistically, Serie A finds itself in a peculiar position in European football. It trails the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga in terms of UEFA coefficient points, overall revenue and average attendance, and is desperately trying to play catch-up. The poorer quality is arguably a large reason why Serie A players have struggled upon moving to the Premier League -- and, to a slightly lesser extent, the Bundesliga and La Liga. They appear promising in Italian domestic competition only to struggle when attempting to adjust to a higher level of football.

Can’t fully agree here. Lamela has also done better at Sevilla than spurs. And the reason is clear. Lamela is technically gifted but he needs time on the ball that he never got in the PL. he’s not a good and quick decision maker under pressure and is not physically dominant enough to break pressure and get time on the ball.

His skill set did not fit the PL. It doesn’t mean all Serie A players don’t fit.

I've recently gone meat and dairy free with less bread (due to long covid symptoms which seem to be getting worse), feeling much better after just a week. more energy and no heaviness, blood rushes or aches after a meal, Its called the GBOMBS diet (greens, beans, onions. etc, mushrooms, berries, seeds etc. highly recommended (so far).

My philosophy has always a bit of everything, but now its obvious that you've got to cut out or drastically reduce certain foods, especially if you're a pro athlete.
I had COVID over two months ago. Found the post viral fatigue was at its worst about a month after, though I might have not taken enough time off sick. Gradually getting my energy back, it's a slow process. Am also a lot weaker than before in terms of muscle strength. I tried going back on the keto diet but it seemed to make things worse in terms of energy. Hope you get better soon.

Agreed. Just gotta rely on our scouts knowing their shit and picking correctly more often than not on who will make it. Sometimes you just can't tell and get unlucky though, can often just be a player doesn't settle in another country and if you can't fix that you're shit out of luck.

As you say, the PL is played at a fast pace, so picking out players who are good at resisting a press, make quick decisions, and thrive in games where there's not much space is key. Conte will know more than most who would fit that bill, having managed in both countries.

So what are they supposed to eat? Ronaldo eats a lot of fish, chicken protein...
