It's not harsh if it's on the banned list.
I get that there's a more serious "legal drug" use that's ridiculous like the b2 agonists and a load of other asthma drugs being taken by pro-athletes who have now all overnight become asthma sufferers (I think the last count at Liverpool is that 75% of their players are apparently asthma sufferers

).
But if it's banned then it's banned and the vast majority of drugs on the banned list are there because they are masking agents rather than anything to do with performance-enhancing.
But the point was 9 months out the game (completely - no training) comes with a risk if that individual is expected to be No1 'keeper. That said I think his ban is either ended or about to end so I presume (and hope) he's back playing, it's not even about getting rusty but more so his mental state and confidence if he fails to get his place back.
