It makes me so damn happy to see our squad players actually putting in performances when they get the chance (Davies, Winks, Alli, Bergwijn, etc.)

For the last few years, on paper, we’ve had more depth in terms of internationals and touted signings than we’ve ever had in my memory. And yet, when they’ve gotten chances in cups and due to normal rotation it feels like they could never actually seize the opportunity. And then you have to hear the bullshit in the press about them not being pleased about playing time like they hadn’t fucked up their chance.

Long may this level of motivation and performance from squad players continue. In modern football you have to have a squad to compete, there’s simply too many competitions in club and international football to only rely on 12 or 13 players like we did in the peak Pochettino years.

Christ some of you lot really think we should be playing like 1970 Brazil basically a month in under Conte and after a massive COVID delay.

We’ve had much better teams lose to far worse West Ham teams in the last decade. Always good to beat them. Two good goals from us as well and they only scored off a mistake. Plus great support tonight, sure it was a fun night out for those in attendance.
