So your logic is not to replace Winks who you think is shit, during the window, but to keep him.

Whilst all of that is very true, Winks is a short, in shape shit waste of space.
The problem is that despite all of this, Ndombele could still be an excellent footballer, and Winks can’t.
To be fair I dont think Conte understood the question about Ndombele at all.
They asked him what role do you see for Tanguy to play?
Conte doesnt hear it well and starts to talk about Tanganga.
Then the interview clarifies that he asked about Ndombele.
And he replied with what he thought 'role' meant as in his position.
So he said "he is a midfielder, so i think he is a midfielder".
The interviewer then asks about how in a previous interview he said Ndombele has to learn about his position. Is he learning that? (or something to that effect)
Conte goes on about how he gives all players equal time blah blah.
Basically he wasnt trying to be weird with the 'he is a midfielder' thing. He just didnt understand question as its all in English and obviously doesnt look very comfortable with interviews in English (as shown by the long errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr between every 4 words).
I do remember Mourinho last season saying Winks has been great in preseason and it will be his year. Played him a few times and then gave up. Lets hope this time round things are slightly better. Its last chance saloon for a lot of our players.
Maybe people need to look at what level Winks has improved from

Yeah except as I've explained that's him trying to give a confidence boost, it's not as if we have VVD and he's picking Dier ahead of him.
He's picking Winks ahead of Ndombele. Clearly he feels one is more useful than the other having worked with them both extensively in training. He's a world class, in his prime manager who knows more than you by a country fucking mile.
And so far .. guess what? His decisions are vindicated. Winks' performance vs Liverpool was better than any performance I can remember from Ndombele going back fucking months. I too USED to have faith in Tanguy, but anyone who still clings on to the 'he could be great' shite is kidding themselves.

Ndombele had the talent to be great, but it will never be fulfilled. He may go to a softer, slower league and do a job, but that's it. He'll never do a job for a PL team, especially one under a manager who demands effort and cohesion.
Winks doesn't have the talent but he has application and knows his role & limitations. Therefore he is actually of use as a player in this squad. He is the better option for us right here and right now. He has a fraction of the talent but this is a team game and it's not about who can do more pirouettes.

As usual you disagreeing with Conte is different
As usual you fail to see the difference between hyping a player up in the media and actually picking them in the team. One can be construed as him giving Dier a confidence boost and showing faith, the offer is clearly him showing who he trusts more and feels will do more on the pitch.
Conte's actions are backed up by plenty of evidence. We've seen Ndombele suffer similar issues under other managers, we've seen years of him struggling to settle, struggle to adapt, struggle to find a position, struggle to complete 90 minutes. So when a world class manager in his prime arrives and within weeks has already added to the mountain of evidence against Ndombele, I find it baffling you're still siding with the player.
I imagine Conte knows a lot more than you about what it takes to be a midfielder in his setup, and currently Winks fits that bill better, and we see this when he plays. There's all sorts of evidence backing up the very qualified person making the decisions, but you STILL think he's wrong. That's just pure baseless arrogance.
Thing is we have won some games and because of teams around us suffering from bad games, we have climbed up the table a little. So the perception is that now we are going places (dont need to buy many) and all the players involved recently are much much better than the ones who played before or have improved to some unthinkable level.
Not that I agree with the bolded bit though. (Even if TN does have a better goals+assist rate than any of our other midfielders this season). Winks vs Liverpool is definitely better than ndombele at his worst.

I never said anything about giving Winks credit because he tries hard. I personally don't care how hard you try as long as you produce. Winks has produced more in the last 2 games than Ndombele has in the last 5 months. Ndombele will pop up with the good pass here or there, besides that he offers nothing. Winks under Conte has been playing much better passes (see 3 key passes against Southampton as latest examples) plus Winks puts in the defensive effort. Ndombele does not.
Ndombele needs to fit into a team that will allow him to walk around the pitch without the ball. Then make a few tricky dribbles and play the occasional forward pass. He is a luxury player, not a Tottenham player.

Keane Lewis-Potter plays for Hull, I think. A winger or a striker if I recall correctly. Not sure on Brennan Johnson though.
