Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dier davies were mentioned in that post you quoted.

In an ideal world yes but dont see much happening in jan with levy. Forever hopeful but been there before

Levy won’t deliver, that became evident the minute Conte said Winks was very good and Dier can be world class.

I’m still hoping for a striker, but I’m guessing we will just hear the usual “Kane is world class” tripe and sign our 17th second rate winger instead

Thought times were changing, but seems the squad is adequate again from the noises coming from the club.

All fun and games until the window shuts and we’re shit again

Ali Gold out here sayin' Ndombele is the fittest he's ever been at Tottingham.

The irony is that this season Ndombele is understood to have got himself into the best condition of his time at Tottenham so the fitness is there to help him dominate matches with his incredible ability.

I just stumbled upon these quotes from Fabregas, and I know this stuff happened 4-5 years ago, but it may just be the case that Conte prefers water carriers in the middle of the park. Safety first.

"When Conte first came to Chelsea I didn't really play the first three months. He made it clear he wanted a different type of midfielder. Nemanja Matic was playing, I had an injury as well and I didn't really play the whole season."

"But we went to Manchester City, we had won seven games and Conte says to me: 'You have to play.' We won 3-1, I played well and gave the assist to Costa for 1-1. It felt like I had made a point to the coach that he could count on me.

"But next we played West Brom, Matic recovers and he starts. It was a typical game and for 70 minutes it was 0-0. They were defending well. The game was calling for someone like me to come on to open the door or do something but the minutes went by and nothing. I remember Costa coming to the touchline and shouting at Conte, saying: 'Put Cesc on!'

"Conte is not the manager you mess with this and he was pretending not to listen to Costa. Two minutes later he says 'Cesc come', and two minutes after I come on and I provided the assist for Costa to score."

Then it’s just pretty weird that we will invest in Winks and not Ndombele.

It’s very obvious Conte is different. All three of them are different in their own way, including Poch in the mix and that is 4 managers who have had success at different levels in their career not able to get anything out of Ndombele.

Conte made Lukaku a world class striker ffs. He can’t even get Ndombele to put effort in. It’s all on Ndombele to do it himself.
A mix between stein, paisley, busby, ferguson, guardiola wouldnt get a tune out of this dope

Reports that Ndombele is in the best shape of his life. Hard to prove yourself if you’re dropped for Winks though

Maybe Ndombele is busting at the seams to get out of England. Other than that, Conte appears to have the horn for micromanagement in terms of how we wants his teams to play, and probably don't like Tanguy's freestylin' ways.

Fabregas again:

'I had coaches like Pep [Guardiola] who had a lot of positioning game but we had freedom inside of this. With Conte, the freedom was non-existent, he was telling me where I have to pass the ball.'

'I'm 29 years old in that moment, I've already played for 13 years, I played in every final, I won a lot of things and this guy is telling me where I need to pass the ball.'

It doesn’t bode well for flare players, even Son hasn’t been himself

Well, if you goes trawling the Internet, you will see what some top-class players had to say about Conte's coaching. Boring/repetitive, apparently.

I'm not saying I don't appreciate anything he has done since he came in. I do. There are lots of positives, but there's other stuff that I'm very uneasy about, including these transfer rumours.

Yeah except as I've explained that's him trying to give a confidence boost, it's not as if we have VVD and he's picking Dier ahead of him.

He's picking Winks ahead of Ndombele. Clearly he feels one is more useful than the other having worked with them both extensively in training. He's a world class, in his prime manager who knows more than you by a country fucking mile.

And so far .. guess what? His decisions are vindicated. Winks' performance vs Liverpool was better than any performance I can remember from Ndombele going back fucking months. I too USED to have faith in Tanguy, but anyone who still clings on to the 'he could be great' shite is kidding themselves.
Feel the same way too. He still could be good for someone else in a different league. Intensity of the PL is just too much for the poor fatty.

Shows the brain power of fabregas. Peps style is the most prescribed type out there down to the smallest detail.

The link to Adama Traore is terrifying

Not sure why you keep having a go at Winks, he was our best midfielder last match. He looks completely different under Conte, much like other players in Contes career.

Ndombele has had chances. He disappeared in most matches he was played. Why would Conte keep wasting his time if so many other managers couldn’t get a tune out of him but other players are improving.

Sell now and move on.

He doesn’t look much different you’ve just convinced yourself he does because you don’t want to say a bad word about Conte picking him
