Ozil, Xhaka and Auba were the three big losers they needed to get rid of. Two of whom were given the armband and all three of whom got bumper new contracts well after proving what unserious footballers they were. A banter club hat trick.

Lego Man is making progress, we’d be fools to deny it. Saka is mustard and plays with the right attitude, they ought to pay him anything it takes to lock him down and make him the captain and centerpiece, let’s hope they fuck it up.
They probably will

This has kind of become the Traore thread haha, but the long and the short of it is this - if Conte wants him, buy him. If Conte doesn't want him, don't buy him.

I’m not overly enamoured with the prospect of him coming to us but that goal came from the mere havoc he has inflicted on the United defence since coming on. I definitely think he’d have a use here, even if he’s not exactly what I think we need.
Yeah late game, tired legs type of player which is exactly how he's been used here against a team who aren't parking the bus.

Commentator just mentioned his bad decision making after a shit pass. I hope he doesn't come because it'll be world war 3 on here if he does!!

Only agree about Xhaka, who has always been terrible and ironically the player Arteta has rated most of any player he inherited. Auba basically singlehandedly won Artera that FA cup which is the only reason he's been able to survive the last two seasons. It was stupid to make him him captain, but he's been an absolute class player for them. Ozil was also very good for most of his tenure, when they were actually a top four team unlike under Arteta.

They've got some good young players like Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Gabriel and Ramsdale. They could be something in a few years, but they've taken advantage of the fact that we threw away a quarter of the season under Nuno and whatever United is doing. And even then we're still only 2 points behind with two games in hand, with a six pointer coming up.

I still don't rate Arteta a bit, his team is ridiculously undisciplined, almost always gets played off the pitch by good teams, and his ego is gargantuan compared to what he's achieved. He's been lucky with their academy and that the last leadership group brought in Martinelli. We'll see.

They also aren't run particularly well. Edu is so thickly in bed with Joorchabian and that's where 75% of their transfer come from. They did alright this summer, but there have been a lot more Willians, Pepes, Pablo Maris than good signings. Their wage bill is also a disgrace. Though it does seem like Kroenke is sticking some money in now.
I don’t particularly rate Arteta either and he’s definitely inherited some of Wenger’s lesser traits, and you are 100% correct that their recruitment stinks, but lucky though it may be they have produced some serious players from that academy and if they can supplement them in a competent way their days of being a joke will be over.

It isn’t as hard as they’ve made it look the last several years.

Traore puts teams under pressure and makes things happen, it doesn't always come off but he's basically an extinct player in the modern risk averse, possession obsessed football culture.

I don't know if he'd solve our wingback issues, but I'd love to see what a world class manager like Conte could get out of him. It's a totally different debate when the price tag is 20m rather than 40m like it was this summer. At worst, he's a dynamic impact sub who will come in and change things up, as he clearly has in this match.

Neves would be a nice fit next to Skipp. Wolves won't sell him in January and it'll be a very substantial price tag in the summer too, think they've always quoted his sale at 60m.

How you can look at this Wolves team and ignore Neves and Podence and think yep, Traore is the man for us, is beyond me.
Well Neves is a different position.
As for Podence, he also has finishing issues like Adama.

But Adama at RWB could progress the ball up the pitch like no one else in world football.

However he was really poor in the final third today. I would prefer Lamptey to Adama, but Adama is better than Emerson.
