McKennie-for-Ndombele again, against all odds, lowering the squad’s technical ability.

I like McKennie and I think he’s the winning kind of shithead more than the losing kind, if that makes sense, but I don’t think he’s the profile we’re crying out for in MF.

If Ndombele was performing then I would agree but since his technical ability is basically zero right now in terms of what he offers on the field I think it is actually an upgrade on technical ability. McKennie is a technical upgrade on Winks and PEH, and probably Skipp if we are being honest.

Depending on the fit I think he could be a very good fit. The problem we run into is the other players we already have. If Skipp is used as the deep lying player, not ideal and we bring in a more Eriksen-type (not an exact copy) I think McKennie fits want Conte wants. If Skipp is not that deep lying playmaker or we don't bring a more pure creative player then there could be issues but those issues would exist with or without him.

TLDR; Mckennie is an upgrade on the MFers we have and makes us better but certainly doesn't solve all the problems with our MF and might be too similar to Skipp if we want both to start together.

Sorry but surely you can't mean that? So if someone offered us £1m for him you think we should take it? We'd very quickly be bankrupt if we took that approach to all of our flop signings...
But surely you see the anomaly is that we get regularly lumbered and stuck with our shit, while other big clubs seem able to shift theirs on with comparative ease.
You must at least acknowledge it's a problem that affects us more than others?

If you buy more shit, you get stuck with more shit... ;)
I get your point in all seriousness though, Levy is far too stubborn in keeping deadwood too long and they rot until their contract expires. Getting their wages off the books earlier would negate the lower transfer fee, but his ego won't let him accept the lower fee, it seems.
There is always that perfect medium we need to strive for though and we shouldn't just give away our squad players. They may be "shit" for us, but take Sissoko for example, he looks to have strengthened a poor Watford team.

McKennie and Skipp have a ton in common both in the way they play but perhaps even more in the attitude and personality they bring to the game. It’s a great personality and attitude, but someone’s gotta be able to play a line-splitting pass in there.

We could do a lot worse than taking Gini Wijnaldum on loan for the season. Experienced, adds a goal threat and something different to what we already have.

Haha, he's 77, with a double stent. He gets out of puff on a briskish short walk so I think his haring up and down the wing days may be past him now.

I'll ask him tho - the paella and jamón ibérico could well sway him.
Ahh age is just a number.

The stent isn't too bad. Daley Blind plays with an ICD and there's talk of Eriksen coming back

Out of puff isn't too dissimilar to Tanguy.

Reguilon already has the jamon iberico ready...

Levy fucking Announce the geezer!

I think we should look more often in Bundesliga. The salary is not so high and their are many interesting players.
RWB: Frimpong -Leverkusen
CM:Zakaria - Gladbach -can play cm and CB
CF: Schick - Leverkusen
COM: Nkunku and Diaby - Leipzig and Leverkusen
Yeah, I'm not so sure that the German league is the benchmark. There are some amazing players of course, but some flatter to decieve. Just look at Sancho. And how Boateng looked immense for Bayern and pants for city.

See newcastle arent fucking about with signings. Two bob club with loads of cash. Hurry up levy. Chop chop.
They have literally only signed an over the hill Trippier who looked shit in his debut. Told no almost immediately about Botman and everybody else they are looking out is bottom barrel of other teams. Oilcastle United and their literal murderous blood money is not someone to look towards as an indicator of transfers.

And they can't just attract anyone because they might go down and ain't no decent player that wants that, regardless of money.

John Thomas John Thomas I see you've disagreed with this - may I ask what your disagreement is exactly? Do you genuinely think that we should ship out any unwanted players for a pound each? Do you genuinely think we could stay afloat as a club for very long if we did that every time we had a player we no longer wanted?

I'm honestly really interested to hear what on earth anyone could disagree with in that post.

God no. BuLi is a death trap. For every Son there are 10s of Sanchos and Werners.

The only thing that I would say about both those examples, and they may just be two amongst many that you have, is that everything that we are seeing with them are concerns that were raised when they were in the Bundesliga.

It isn't like Werner was clinical and then came to Chelsea and all of a sudden started missing sitters.

I think even with Sancho people thought that he was talented but fit best in specific formation and had questions about his ability to adapt when not being used as he was at Dortmund.

I am not sure this means anything and like I said you might have other examples of guys who came and flopped. but maybe it means that the transition from Bundesliga to PL is easier to translate and the issues players bring with them need to be considered very carefully.

I do think it is dangerous to write off the Bundesliga completely when it is clearly producing talented players both at the club level and internationally.
