It seems that Dybala does not intend to renew. Juventus wants to discuss lower figures than those requested by the player. Dybala has been playing in fits and starts for 2 years but he wants a super salary.

If it was too difficult 3 years ago, it'll still be too difficult now. 3rd party ownership IIRC? Levy loves pursuing those players.

They bought extraordinarily well to get Mane, Salah and Van Dijk.

Summer 2018 they bought decent enough, but they timed that injection of help extremely well.

Naby Keita’s been a bit of a bust. Not Ndombele bad but not a difference maker. Shaqiri was a squad player. Alisson is overrated and wouldn’t recoup his fee if they tried to sell him. Fabinho is brilliant and underrated.

But it filled the right holes at the right time.

Their actions were responsive to the FINANCIAL opportunity offered by winning major honors. Think what Liverpool’s revenue outlook and club value looks like today versus what it would be if they’d finished fourth in 2019 and 2020.

ENIC acts as if they can be 5th fighting for 4th forever and draw 62k at eye watering prices forever at profit-ensuring spending levels forever.

Forget the anti-sporting cynicism of it, they’re just incorrect.

The difference between the ENIC and FSG projects is that FSG understands and executes the business of running a football club better.

We've heard this from a few people now so thought it was worth posting.

Paratici (and subsequently Conte) were promised we'd have money to spend on new players and that was part of what convinced them to join.

These finances were meant to be from a deal that we'd hoped to have wrapped up by now. We don't know if it was the stadium rights or someone buying equity but Levy thought it'd be done already. Conte "understands" the situation but if things get worse then that can obviously change.

:contebored:

The Goat bleats that the board have been lying their heads off again.

I would bet Levy hasn’t gotten either deal done because of his negotiating style and tactics. I would bet he is offering the new potential equity investor(s) a shit return (sub 5% IRR). Probably the same concept on the stadium naming rights deal.

So let's get this straight

Their owners have invested much the same amount of dosh as ours over the last decade.

Their net spend is actually roughly in line with ours too.

....And the reason their model is so radically different is that we've got a new stadium vs them just bolting new bits on on the cheap every few seasons?

Note: the wage levels can largely be attributed their bigger fan-base and revenue levels for the last 10-20 years.... Funnily enough our stadium is a mechanism to directly address that.

Fun facts:
- Their owners were a prime driver for the ESL within the EPL 6
- Their owners also tried to pull a furlough stunt.
- Their owners also came under immense criticism for ticket price hikes.

.....That all sounds pretty familiar to me.

It's almost like ENIC & Fenway were seperated at birth! : P

How much do you charge ENIC?

💯

We need an inbound signing asap to deflect negativity. Perspective on last night chelsea just spend spend spend. 2.2 billion since 2003. Before the russian they were simod cup winners. The cup the big clubs didnt enter.

Still wanting a world record price, he wants £250m for a 10+ Year deal AFAIK.

Would be a big feather stabbed into his badly business Dr. Evil slaphead/cap.

Errrrrr.... They above was all signed before that CL win.

See above.

Or.... As I said all along; despite their intentions; 3 big fees fell into their lap and they bought well (less so the Sterling dosh).

You're dressing this all up with way more pomp than it warrants.

Why the fuck did Conte join us? I'm seriously beginning to wonder. What did Levy/ENIC promise him?
If we dont have money why did we appoint him? Could say the same for Paratici. Big name, short term fan appeasers are pointless if you cant give them what they are used to working with. We'd have been better going for a more modern thinking DOF and a ten Hag or Potter who could have built a younger team over 3 or 4 years. No plan as usual. Act billy big bollocks without backing it up. We're rudderless.
