Maybe not, but I'd still sooner hang on to that hope than just remove him from the squad and add another defender.

We're piss weak in attack already and the only addition on the horizon appears to be a fast donkey from Wolves who can't kick.

I'd happily see GLC and Ndombele sold and replaced by more potent attacking players, but given the summer debacle, where we (apparently) upgraded the defence and assumed that the attack would be worked on next window (now...) links for any more of our (supposed) attackers being swapped for defenders are the last thing I want to see.

But showing that we could ditch 11 players shows that we need more or shall we go through the season with 14 players ?

Once this window splutters by we need t to change our entire recruiting team as they’re clearly crap. Problem is , those who hire our recruiting team are as clueless.

You wonder if a recruiting team is even needed with agents whoring out players left , right & centre

Hanging on to that hope is literally cutting your nose off to spite your face.
He won't come good.
Neither will TND.
Neither will Dele.
That's the best part of half a million a week and 3 squad places on players who will barely ever kick a ball, let alone do something useful with it.
We will not move on and bring new players in with these 3 in the squad. They will not improve. This is as set in stone as a scenario as there could ever be.

What it shows, is that in less than 5 years, we have signed an entire 11 that would easily get relegated from the PL.

At this point I don't want Hitchen, levy, or paratici anywhere near the choice of incomings.

For me it's very simple, ask Conte exactly who he needs and get him that player.

Pay top dollar for a proven talent that Conte wants to work with. No more assessments of future saleability until this squad is in shape.

We need to raid clubs for their talent scouts. Big time. Which clubs have the best track record for signing players who go on to succeed?
We can't go on buying duds and crippling ourseleves.

And fingers need to be pointed at who got them in . Of course the market has it risks but simple Google searches show that players like Tanguy etc we’re always going to be headaches

. Didn’t Royal get bought for €9m euros in June 2021 & 2 months later we paid €26m ? It’s a joke
 
I can't see the point of Paratici being there, Levy is running down the clock as he always does, the signings we are linked with are like stale bread.

Getting them out and getting replacements for them in is not what I'm objecting to though, getting one of them out and directly swapping them for a defender is.

We all know by now that we are strictly one in one out, so if we swap GLC for a defender then that is that, no creative midfielder is coming in until someone comes along willing to take D'OHerty off our hands. Do you want to hold your breath on that one?

Can someone please enlighten me as to why Hitchen doesn't get more criticism on here? Surely he has overseen the scouting of this crap!!

We need better defenders. You're being a bit "binary" here. There isn't a queue of people desperate to take these players.
We want a CB, it seems we do want this Carlos chap. If Seville happen to want one of ours, that reduces money changing hands. We don't need to get rid of all 3 of those players and bring in like for likes. We could afford (as in afford to lose, not have money, we all know there's like no money) the 3 of them and bring only one attacking midfielder in. For now.

Our philosophy has been to sign players off the back of one good season and it's happened time and time again.
