Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Take Bale back. Reserve striker or reserve forward.

Scored more PL goals last season in about 5 minutes a game than Tanguy and Lo Celso have combined in 2.5 years.

“I think Tottenham have got a lot of irons in a lot of fires,” he told The Transfer Gossip Daily Podcast. “And so, Diaz is one of the players they like. But there are numerous, and I’m told there are perhaps some even ahead of him on their wishlist.”
Yeah names ahead of him are Tanner from Lewes and Potter from Hull lol

Fair enough.....

Big (even bigger) picture.... Some deals get done... Some don't....... Counts for all clubs.

........Too broad a picture for your liking?

Only time I care about other clubs transfers is when we are playing them or when I see a club like Villa showing ambition and doing shrewd bits that we should be doing.

We are a declining force due to gross mismanagement, negligence and the continued penny pinching the cheapest available option rather than the best available option. With the key word being available.

You have to go back a long time to find a Spurs squad in such a state of disrepair as this one.

With that firmly in mind I don't give a fuck about Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpools business, they are in a lot less immediate need than we are.

You're "shocked" that there's no buyers for a bunch of players who's form is in the complete dirt? ....Even though the first 3 are all seemingly also being made available for loan?

.......What sort of "plan" do you suggest changes that situation and creates buyers for those players?
Well, let's be clear, there WILL be interest in the likes of Alli, Ndombele, Lo Celso even Rodon - they have been shit for us but could certainly improve other teams.

The last 5 years proves nothing if not the fact that we will simply hold onto underperforming players and let them rot at the club rather than cut our losses .

My 'plan' would be to get them out of the club, if it means paying some of their wages, or one of these 'loan to buy' options that we seem so enamoured by these days so be it. I assume you're fine with the fact that Alli and the like are still here YEARS after they stopped performing?

It's because Levy thinks he can recoup more. It all comes back to Levy.

No proof we are trying though.

Don't worry, guys, Levy gonna sign us Ivanovic, Moses and Costa. Maybe even Ramires. All for a bag of pickled onion-flavoured Space Invaders and a can of fizz

Lets start at the beginning again....

You said you were "shocked" that there had not been "offers" for the players you listed.

I asked you how you'd ensure there WERE offers/buyers....... You've failed to answer this.

By all means mourn the fact that these players are clogging up the wage bill, but loaning them out to clubs that can't afford to buy nor pay them will get us nowhere in the longer term.

I assume you're fine with the fact that Alli and the like are still here YEARS after they stopped performing?

Let's not start a straw-man, eh.....

So the January transfer window is a good time to piss away money on average wingers and overpriced kids ... is that what you're saying?

Yes we should be signing players, but how has spending 250m on any old crap worked in the last three years? quality over quantity and preferably both.
You don't have to spend big money to make good signings, you have to be smart and have a good scouting network, something which we seemingly don't have. Conte has made it known we need players now because our squad isn't big enough, end of, if he doesn't get what he wishes for then that's on the chairman.

Levy hires the scouts and all the other buffoons who are incapable of putting together a decent squad, remember that also.

And, finally, Levy always drags deals out because he likes the chase of the deal imo, honestly, it's tiresome having the same argument when you know it's the reality, he holds us back as a football club on the pitch, where it matters.

I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of Diaz before we went after him (allegedly). Stat sheet and video highlights sure look impressive. But what really...REAAAAAALLLLLY...matters to me and what should really matter to all of you is, what sort of character is he? Is he gonna fight for the shirt like a madman day in day out, or is he gonna diva his way through his big contract and crumble whenever the going gets tough? Also, does he share his compatriot Davinson's friggin habit for a big brainfart each & every game...or has actually got football IQ?

Substance over style, please. We saw what happened when we go the wrong way about it...
