Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If Levy were really sincere about signing players like Diaz he would make his move early in the window. That way if we do get gazzumped there is still time to adjust and pursue other targets calmly.

By waiting till the end he makes it less likely we will sign the player, not more likely. He is an arrogant moron. His brinkmanship has its place in the 2000s but not now. He hasn’t changed with the times at all.

Yeh he is like Mourinho, a man of his time, he is past it now. We need a younger chairman with new ideas. Club is stale as 6 week old fruit.

We better make sure that Liverpool overpay for Diaz by a lot. Make Liverpool pay the minimum fee release clause. How incompetent are Spurs this is why you get deals done quickly and do not spend so long negotiating.

Liverpool will not pay more than they think a player is worth so we just increase our bid.

Levy embarrases us and makes us look like complete laughing stocks again.

Wouldn't be surprised if he kicks us in the balls even more by charging for use of toilet in stadium. Absolute cunt.

Will people stop saying this. It was 3 years ago.

And off the back of 2 blank windows where there was plenty of funds.

think we have a fairly solid first 11, so looking at backup players is that the way to go ? think that is a waste of money
we need to sign players that are first 11, (maybe a backup keeper)
yes Lamptey might be ok if he can stay fit

We've got about 5 players I'd call solid to good.
Lloris, Romero, Kane, Son, Moura. The rest are absolutely replaceable. That said, many of those replaceable players are no worse than our actual top 4 rivals.

Not yet, Armrabat is wishful thinking.

Ruben Neves
is a player Spurs should be after if Wolves are willing to sell him. And £40M is an "acceptable" fee for him (if that really is their asking price I don't know). The CM would be sorted at least...

Woolwich have reportedly begun talks with Wolves over the signing of Ruben Neves.

The Molineux club remain confident of keeping the midfielder, who they rate at £40million, and Manchester United are also keen to sign the 24-year-old.

The Gunners are still reported to be keen on Juventus' Arthur Melo, but sources claim the Old Lady's demand of an 18-month loan plus £40m has been deemed excessive by some at the Emirates.

Calum Chambers has completed his move to Aston Villa, raising the prospect of Mikel Arteta having funds to make a late transfer this month.

And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to have no future at the club after Mikel Arteta left him out of his squad for warm weather training in Dubai.

In response, the former captain is said to have offered himself to Barcelona.

I think we will see a couple of incomings.

Maybe I am being naively optimistic but Levy knows much hangs on it.

To be fair I thought that before in many situations and somehow we managed to fuck up. My only cause for optimism is Conte, a truly elite manager, not backing him could be suicide for the club so we may just go that bit extra this time.

Why did we bother bringing in Conte?

It's blatantly obvious that Levy has no genuine intention on us competing for silverware. We have an ageing, mid table squad.

We should have just stuck with Nuno instead of making ourselves look like total twats when Conte inevitably walks for not being backed. It's obvious that Levy is content with a mid-table finish, whilst charging League winner prices to enter the tourist attraction.

If we have £60m then Neves should be straight up an option, he would seriously improve our midfield. Neves and Raphina to save the window and keep Conte happy.

That would fucking be it if they get Neves. If we were offering £40m for Diaz then offer that for Neves, i'd say its a position we need to fill more than another winger, no matter how good.

Wasted 27 days of the window chasing a player who didn't want to play in the position we asked him to.

Spent another 3 days putting in low balling bids for a good talent, only to have another team actually bid what they want and hijack it.

Fannying around with getting players out before we bring in a target Conte actually wants.

Would anyone be genuinely surprised if Conte walked on February 1st?

I don’t believe that Liverpool have hijacked Luis Diaz.

Surely that can’t be the case.

I mean, a small group of elite posters have repeated over and over again that good teams don’t do business in January.

You’re telling me their words are not gospel?
