Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As soon as our interest in Diaz was made public there was always a chance Liverpool would make their move.

He’ll end up there. More ambitious club, in the champions league and fighting for the title.
I bet Liverpool knew before the press. Once Spurs showed interest, his agent(s) would let other clubs know.
Agents are clever and cunning businessmen and they would leak out such info to get the best deal for themselves. And it can be that Liverpool requested Diaz's agent to inform them in case of other clubs making bids.

Regarding Morata....him and Conte did not seem like best friends back their Chelksi days - but things can change, of course...
I forgot that he cost £65M once upon a time (he was not even worth half of that fee even back then)

GIVE ME MOR

Alvaro Morata is latest Chelsea star to feel Antonio Conte’s wrath – despite Spanish striker netting two in last two matches

Italian believes former Juventus and Real Madrid striker should deliver more than 14 goals he has scored this term

ALVARO MORATA is the latest star to feel the heat under Antonio Conte.
The hardline Chelsea boss wants more out of the Spanish striker, who cost the club a record £65million last summer and who has scored 14 goals in his debut season.

Even so Conte believes Morata, 25, should be delivering on a more consistent basis.

There is a feeling in the camp the former Real Madrid man does not make football his priority — a big no-no for Conte who claims he works 24 hours a day.

Morata has suffered a back injury and endured a barren spell this season as he battles to adapt to the physical punishment of English football and the heavy fixture load.

He has scored in each of his last two games but also went through a 13-game goalless run from December to March in which the frustrated striker was booked five times and sent off.

Morata was left out of the Spain squad for the most recent round of international games in a further blow.

Defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill have also found themselves on the wrong end of Conte’s uncompromising management style.

Luiz was frozen out after a row with the Italian chief in a team tactics meeting and is now recovering from injury.

Club captain Cahill has been dropped in favour of German Antonio Rudiger and has started only one game since February 16.

We are not completely average. Win 1 of our games in hand and we are in the top 4; above United, Woolwich, West Ham.

Win 2 of our games in hand and we are just 5 points behind Liverpool in 2nd.

Burley / Brighton are winnable for us.

All this with an out of form attack and a change of coach mid season.

Missing out on (another) year of Champions League will cost the club up to 100m in lost match day revenue and TV income.

We are in a brilliant position to get Top 4 this season. Win just 1 of our games in hand and we IN THE TOP 4. It is ours to lose.

Sure, the transfer window is not closed yet; but it's clear that we must get in a top level player and will have to over pay if we want to be a more attractive option that our rivals.
Shut up!!
You optimistic levy loving buffoon
And if they properly prepared and gone and got there targets rather than wait until the last minute, pissing around for the sake of 5p we might have actually got the player we were going for.
Were not ever going to do anything with levy and Enic. 22 years of failure on the pitch are proof of this.

If Levy were really sincere about signing players like Diaz he would make his move early in the window. That way if we do get gazzumped there is still time to adjust and pursue other targets calmly.

By waiting till the end he makes it less likely we will sign the player, not more likely. We’ll just end up panicking and buying shite. He is an arrogant moron. His brinkmanship has its place in the 2000s but not now. He hasn’t changed with the times at all.
