Tottenham are considering going back in for Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence, claim Sky Sports.

THE LOWDOWN: SPENCE PROFILED

Spence is on loan at The City Ground from Middlesbrough and is primarily a right-back who can also play as a right midfielder.

Labelled as a ‘massive player’ by Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff, the 21-year-old has made 22 appearances for Forest and helped them defeat Woolwich in the FA Cup earlier this month.

Reports in recent weeks suggested that Antonio Conte was close to signing the Englishman, and it now appears as if Spurs could go back in for Spence after a move for Adama Traore collapsed.

THE LATEST: SKY SPORTS CLAIM
According to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, relayed by Football League World, Spurs are weighing up another move for Spence.

The update claims that even though Tottenham won’t be able to use the player this season, they are still considering a late January swoop.

THE VERDICT: GOOD NEWS
Out of all the Forest players who have played 15 or more games this season, Spence has been the best, as per WhoScored, so a late winter window deal ahead of the summer could be an exciting one.

He’s clearly an impressive young talent, and who knows, he could fit the right-wing back mould Conte wanted Traore in over the coming years.

Missing out on Spence now could also be a risk ahead of the summer, especially with Transfermarkt believing Woolwich, Inter Milan and Roma are circling – securing a deal now could be extremely beneficial for the long-term future under Conte.
Considering and appears are the keywords in this article... 2 words that repeat themselves each time Spurs are "considering" a player ...

Guys, chill...we're gonna sign the likes of Nzonzi, Babel, Sturridge or Diego Costa.

Maybe even a Vrsaljko or Sidibe (ex-Everton), a Samson from Villa (if they sign Betancur from Juve).

How about the new Lewis Holtby from some obscure Bundesliga B team. But he's the next Marco Reus, I'm telling you.

Do you ever wonder what would happen if all transfer business was actually kept a secret until the ink is dry?

Whilst we're clearly a fucking shit show, I feel the reporting of our business hurts us.
Firstly, the deals that don't go ahead embarrass us and secondly, the excessive reporting ultimately brings rivals to the table.
That's no excuse, any player's agent would already be sniffing out alternative interest in order to drive up the wage offers anyway.

Liverpool didn't just spring into action after hearing about our bid for Diaz whilst browsing twitter.

It was much better in the 90's though when the first you heard of a transfer was the official announcement, and of course no bloody TW, and no YouTube or internet to tell you from the off just how shite Ramon Vega actually was.

Apparently he's a twat though. We really don't do any off the field homework on players.

Can't wait til we're struggling in the Championship and have to call on Big Sam or Pulis to tighten things up at the back

I wonder if the Paritici method has met its limits at Tottenham.

As I understand it, he lines up many possible transfers at the same time for the same position or for a given budget - the idea is that this maximises the clubs options and improves the bargaining position vis a vis the selling clubs.

The problem with this, is that the players, who obviously also have stakes in the outcome, may very well feel that they are being used and that they are really not so highly wanted. Maybe other clubs have caught on as well, given the mans high profile.

Perhaps Paritici could get away with this method working for Juventus because of the clubs pulling power and because Juve pays the highest wages in Italy.

It also strikes me that the method might be a tad annoying for the manager - he may not view two players as quite so "similar" as Mr Paritici.
paratici follows many targets, but has his favorites.
maybe not now, maybe not in the summer but at the end he buys his targets: ask to juventus fans how long there were voices for federico chiesa for example. or for cuadrado.
after 2 years of voices he eventually got them.
for these reasons I suggest some names: icardi, dybala, kessiè, paredes, zaniolo, milinkovic-savic, szoboszlai, zurkowski ..they are all possible targets

if paratici does not buy anyone is because he can't spend money and orders are to revalue players that already are in the squad
