It's really not hard

People want us to spend the necessary amount to bring in players of real quality that tangibly improve us

One quality player for 50 mil , not two average ones for 55

Sadly that is pretty much our philosophy and the main reason as to why we have accumulated so many average players we can't shift
Like Lo Celso...
Like Sanchez...
Like Ndombele...

When we spend 45m+ it is shit signings.

For all the anger and anxiety this past week or two we look to be the only team battling for 4th that is trying to strengthen.

2-3 of Ndombele, Dele and GLC out. All of which Conte barely uses.
Kulusevski and Bentancur in. If he uses them then we're likely a little stronger in depth.

United haven't brought anyone in and loaned out Martial, as well as likely Van De Beek and Jones.

Woolwich have loaned out AMN, Balogun. Sold Chambers and Kolasinac. Bought no one.

West Ham. Done nothing.

I think out of all the clubs mentioned we were the one that clearly needed the most improvement.

I would say United moving out some of their non-playing malcontents might be the best thing they could do, although I think the squad is to bloated with guys that are playing and shouldn't.

The solution is to mix quality big money purchases with shrewd business for less money.

We aren't City. We need to pad the squad out with lesser types as well.

Sure I think that is always the best way. Even the top clubs like City do this to an extent.

I just think that saying some of our big purchases in the past haven't worked out so we shouldn't go for them is the wrong approach because we have seen that is the best way for teams to get in the quality for top 4 and Cup winning teams.

These Villa fans are deluded

I’d be absolutely astonished if he chose Tottenham over us.

Juventus fans on Kulusevski:

'ffs Kulusevski just retire already'
'How can Kulusevski be so bad?'
'Oh great, Kulusevski is on'
'Kulusevski is soo predictable and mediocre'
' Kulusevski is simply serie B material'
'Why Kulusevski is still on the pitch?'
'Kean and Kulusevski should be playing for udinese'
'The moment you play the ball to Kulusevski it's gone.'
'He's kinda 20 years too late really. Slow, languid wide players don't work out these days'
'He is too slow, not agile, need too much space and time to pull a top notch action, shot or pass. '

I've actually left out a lot of the more offensive stuff. Ok so their fans seem like a childish, toxic bunch but it all doesn't sound good, does it? Confirms what I thought when I watched him. These are people watching him weekly.

He does lead Juve in some categories though

-Most unsuccessful touches per 90
- Most dispossessed player
- Most fouls per game

And this is in the slower paced Serie A, but we expect him to come here where EVERY team presses like animals and him to be transformed? I don't buy it. Sorry.
Apology accepted

Levy’s transfer strategy is a bit like a guy going on a night out aiming to take home an 8 or a 9.

The mission is doomed to fail. The first problem is he isn’t the best looking guy in the world and the second issue is that he’s cheap. After a bit of back and forth with some good looking women, Chad Thundercock swoops in and steals them. It’s now getting late, closing time is in 10 minutes. Instead of going home empty handed, he sees a 2/10 hunched over the bar. He slips over, tells her he’s been trying to muster up the courage to talk to her all night and secures the deal.

No one really wins though. Not in the end.

Bet yeah. I’m sure Kulusevski is going to be great for us.

Kivilusjvelizoski and Ben Ten are on the verge of signing. People with access to Wikipedia and Juventus forums are expressing strong opinions about this.

People with access to wikipedia and the Juventus forums could probably have managed a better hit rate of successful signings than Paratici thus far, so I reckon said opinions have some value.

(Just so we're all clear, the hit rate to beat so far is 0%.)

I for the life of me can't understand how people defend Levy's purchase of Gil. Sure he has potential to be a Great player but Lamela + 21 million was way too much to pay at that time. We had and still have way more pressing issues. We could've bought a number of Good ballers, loaded ready to play in the EPL. Ziyech was purchased by Chelsea for 33 million. Ollie Watkins went to Villa for 28 million. Diego Jota to Liverpool for 37 million. How is a 21 year old lightweight, that we have to loan back to LaLiga in order to gain experience, good Business? I fail to understand any logic Behind the purchase of Gil. We Need to strengthen the squad immediately. Not strengthen for ten years time.

Out of all the signings we’ve made over the last few years I don’t get how Gil is the one people get hung up about.

Lamela was getting into his twilight years, and the years of injuries were going to catch up with him sooner rather than later. I love the guy but let’s not pretend that he was a 50mil player. For once you could argue that we capitalised on his value rather than being stuck with a guy we can’t move.

Gill is still a diamond in the rough, it’s clear he’s talented. He needs to adapt to the league, but at the same time he’s still very young.
He’s exactly the type of player that people would be melting over if other teams signed him.

Yes he didn’t address other more pressing needs, but let’s not pretend that Gill was a waste of money. Give the guy some time.

Did he instantly help us? No, but that doesn’t mean it is was bad business either.

All teams need a mixture of players constantly coming in because, as we have seen, you can’t guarantee success with the players you hope have an immediate impact. Ndombele was supposed to be immediate impact. Lo Celso looked like he should have had immediate impact as well. Chelsea bought Ziyech for immediate impact and Werner. I wouldn’t call either a rousing success so far.

Sure, we brought in a lightweight in Gil but we also brought in Romero and Royal, both who were supposed to be immediate impact. It wasn’t like we only brought in Gil. Sarr is another one for the future. These aren’t bad things. It would have been great if he was playing a bigger part, but what is the big deal if he builds in stature and skill and becomes an amazing player for us?

We can’t just rely upon immediate impact buys. They are often too expensive and not always guaranteed success. A balanced strategy of bringing in academy, exciting prospects, more proven immediate impact players may Actually produce a far better overall team. Academy are relatively inexpensive, you may find a real deal in the prospects are, and that allows you to spend more on the higher ticket players that are more likely to be game changers.

There is plenty to complain about with our recruiting, the lack of forward planning being one of them.
It just boggles my mind that the time we do people still complain about it.
