Juventus was that stronger that season than the rest of Serie A.

Fabien Delph was a regular for Man City record breaking title winner. Where is he now? Was his contribution that great or it's his attribute that complement the team in that situation gives him all those appearances. Then when thing changed significantly. Or similarly how Winks, Sissoko were main stay in our team that reached CL final. Were they better than peak Wanyama and Dembele that failed to even made a CL semi final? Or Winks and Sissoko were carried by the better players, and that we had no better option in midfield at the time.

Pjanic was that good and still ended up a flop, and you're telling me to be optimistic about a guy who got found out at Juventus to come rescue our midfield...

No one expecting one of the best midfielder at peak. However, can we sign someone who is at least performing. Not someone his club is fed up with the latest one and half season. The version we're getting is not a high on confident Scudetto winning midfielder. We're getting a bench player for a team fighting for top 4 in Serie A.
We'll see, like I said, I haven't seen him a massive amount.

I'm just happy to bet on the quality of a 24 year old who has made 187 appearances at a top 5 club in the world, won three titles in a top 5 European league, and has made 46 appearances for a high-quality national team. Especially at the price of 20m.

Maybe he sucks and it doesn't work out. But numerous Juve managers and a top national team manager in Tabarez keep picking him to play a lot. That means something to me. Compare that track record to Lo Celso, who flopped out of PSG at an older age than when Bentancur joined Juve.

I think one thing that I value more now after following transfers for a while is that track record means a lot more than 8 minute YouTube compilations. You don't just fluke your way into hundreds of appearances for a top club and country, especially at age 24. If playing 187 times for Juve is being found out, then wow it took awhile.

Also Marotta was the one who bought him at Juve. So it's not just like he's a Paratici lad.

Juventus was not top 5 club in 2018-2019 onward. Uruguay has been meh, not the 2010 World Cup version. This Uruguay is trying to squeeze the last bit out of old Cavani and Suarez and currently struggling in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Even the best South American team like Brazil and Argentina despite having world class players, are the shadow of their all stars squad of the early 2000s. Nowadays they have to fill the squad with bang average players. Danilo is fucking rubbish and look at all those clubs he has been playing for, and the tittles in his honor list.

Boc a Junior would receive a huge percent from this transfer. For all hype you're projecting, do you realize Juventus is desperate to rid of him right now? If he has huge potential, why not give him more time to restore his value? Or they had seen enough, and now gave up. They're happy to get their money back with little profit.

Marotta is good at building team. It doesn't mean he is infallible in every aspect. Spending the Pogba money on Higuain left question mark on his legacy. Higuain in the end left for free. Zero resale value and he didn't contribute that much when he was at Juventus.

The issue with Paratici is not that he re-sign the same players, but that he seems to have tunnel vision by targeting majority of our activity in Italian league.

Not as excited about him as I am about Kulu, however from what I've read (I can't remember to be honest), he used to be extremely good under Sarri. Pirlo and Allegri ruined him, but Pirlo also ruined Juve in the process. Hopefully he'll be a good addition.

Yeah it's fine, I have little issue with the Bentancur signing. It's just very underwhelming/mediocre and doesn't fix our issue of not having players in midfield with vision or ability to carry the ball in to the opposition half.
Presume that the best players won't be gettable until summer. So makes sense to keep one of GLC / Ndombele until then, rather than be forced to buy another squad player like Amrabat if we lose both.

Conte has improved Dier, Winks and even Sanchez. All we need is for this guy to have the IQ to work the Conte way and this could be a decent squad signing

Skipp is being overrated just like Winks was when he first came on the scene and Tanganga.
He is very hyped right but cant take away that he has been good. But you are right, people forget about how hyped Winks was and also Tanganga because he had a good game against city. Son was extremely criticised here early on and i was in a minority when i called him a talented player.

It could very well be that Skipp is a benchwarmer in a couple of sessions.

Haven't really seen him play but his stats are strong, looks like he will be another player that can do a bit of everything so fits in with what Conte wants for his CMs. High tackle & intercept numbers, high passing numbers with good success rate, tall lad who wins headers, and seems to have a bit of technical ability. Can't complain with this addition if it's not too expensive and helps us fill the midfield gap left by Lo Celso and Ndombele's ousting.

I've been to Montevideo
It's sort of 1930s crumbling glamour with a Latin European feel than South American.
They like their Mata , a leaf drink that they drink on the move.
I met a mate of Gus Poyet in the enclosed central market.
They still bang on about the Graf Spee because not a lot happens .
River plate is very brown muddy .
