Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Still no second striker still no creative midfielder still no decent right wing back. Hopefully these signings help enough to get us through this season and top 4 and we address the glaring issues within this squad that haven't really been addressed in the summer. Think letting lamela go last year was a big mistake.
Not sure Conte playing with attacking, creative midfielders. He prefers them to be enforcers, winning the ball back and pressing the opposition.

He’s mostly relied on wing backs/wingers to be the creativity in the team.

Agree we need a new RWB and ST, but I’d rather not panic in this window and wait to get actual targets in the summer. If waiting 5 months means we get Lamptey and a proper striker worthy of the team then I’m happy to wait.

Jesus goat how you gonna be Saturday? The boys in Ireland 2.15, the sweatys fucking the English at five the The mighty Spurs at 8, then get up and watch CCFC batter the fucking dippers.....you'll be dead my Monday son🙏

It's just BS people guessing his entire contract with Woolwich was terminated. There's easily a chance he agreed on a portion of it paid in a buyout in order to let him go to Barca. Very few players throw away 30 mil or have agents that let them.
His payments have been deferred to help Barca.
He may not get 100% but he'll get a decent chunk of it when Dembele leaves.

I think with the Spurs I’m familiar with, we would have packed it in after getting gazzumped for Diaz and Traore and said “we tried”.

Instead we made a very solid pivot to Kulu/Bentancur, who may not be perfect, but can come in and help our squad right now.

We also didn’t deathgrip our squad malcontents because we didn’t get a perfect deal, while simultaneously continuing to destroy their value.

It’s a decent window for us, made significantly better by those we’re competing against doing nothing. And Woolwich and United are just as big of a shambles as we are squad wise. We’ve got games in hand and the best manager of the three.

At worst, it’s even odds with those two for top 4, I’ll gladly accept that considering the Nuno disaster to start the season and our hideous transfer record since 2018.

It may be just me that remembers this but; less than a week ago, when we were linked to Amrabat and Villa were considered a lock for Bentancur there were cries of "why aren't we linked to players like this!?!?!".

......FFWD to now; we pipped them to the player and now he's considered a bum.

Classic interweb.

How can anyone have confidence that between now and the close of the summer window that we will be in any kind of position to find and then buy the resources we need?

I like the decisiveness of the cull of non-performers but that's step 1.

I don't mind saying it looks like the most ordinary and uninspiring midfield we have had for years, so failing to get a striker who can create goals out of nothing just seems to add to a certain bit of concern .
