I really rate Conte and he might (only might) do good things with us but Potter should have been given the job and the time.

And yes I said it at the time, understand why it would have been viewed as backward step but see next to no difference to what Pochettino did and what he is doing with even less resource.

Potter in front of Conte?
You are having a bubble.

In the summer once Conte was a 'no come it should have been Potter.

We had our biggest period of relative success scooping a manager who was with Southampton.

No difference with Potter and Brighton, other than we probably think we are too good for him.

It remains to be seen if Conte has the ability or desire to build a team from a very small nucleus of quality players.

Just put few quid on Spurs @ 2/1 for top 4.

Woolwich (current favourites with bookies) - lack of goalscorers and inexperience I think will see them fall short

Man U - unhappy squad, stop gap manager. They still look very disjointed on the pitch.

West Ham - thin squad, will be thereabouts but Europa may take its toll.

Us - best xG difference of any the contenders. Bentancur improves us. Unlike W Ham and Arse, we have a lot of players who've done it before. And we have the best manager in Conte. Injuries are the thing most likely to stop us - we need our key players to stay fit.

COYS!

On Woolwich, its jist bizarre how they find a way to rescue their drudge.

Honestly they are not that good and have no mental depth as far as I can see but somehow they find something.

That team now have so little but maybe what they also don't have is prima donnas or destabilising influences.

It is fcuking frustrating whatever it is that keeps them floating.

You keep with the optimism. Hopefully that is enough because there is zero about this group of players that provides that confidence.

If ralf st soton keeps improving then he would be a good shout. He likes play with energy , attack , press and isn’t a defensive minded coach. He also seems to give youngsters a go and looks like he has a good relationship with his players. Very much like kloop and poch when he first came. I’m sure he wouldn’t about not spending money left right and centre and actually try to coach the team into his way of playing. Maybe fir the future who knows. Conte will either try to get in with wjat his got and give it good fist or he will leave. However one thing he needs to do is stop being so negative before and after every game. He seems to make like a visit to the dentist. His latest blurb was that we will find it difficult to get 3 points this season ir something like that. Hardly inspiring. Against chats he threw the towel in saying they spent so much more than us so we couldn’t compete. Such a weak argument otherwise you wouldn’t see giant killing happens in cup games. He needs to give a positive message get them players fired up ten feet tall and take no prisoners. No doubt will go to citeh and he will have thrown the white flag in pre match which the players will pick up. Who can then blame them for not trying as they have already been told by their manager that they have no chance.

I say go all out for the FA Cup. Why should we even bother for Fourth? It's not like the extra money will actually be used to bolster the squad. Levy needs to build his museum and Apartment Block.

Let win something. Let's be a club who actually have bragging rights and not just believe they entitled to Bragging rights. It's embarrassing how some believe it's ok to trash teams like Leicester, because, "We are Spurs."

I think it's between us and Arse,
The difference between the teams is Arse beat the teams below them.
They need to slip and we need to improve.

We can go all out for both, surely? Top 4 will mean we can go for better players in the summer.

Fair post and very balanced.
