Competition The Race for 4th

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Were you feeling so negative after Brighton or Leicester?

Let's not act like we didn't follow up the Leicester game (which we won by the skin of our teeth) by getting played off the park by an underperforming Chelsea. We then won a cup game and followed that up by getting played off the park again, but this time by a mid table outfit.

One good performance followed by one shit one isn't top four inspiring form. Especially when those two good ones came against 9th and 13th placed sides.

We ain't getting too 4 , this side is full of crap with a few decent players.
If we had real intent to challenge top 4 we would have invested more than a laughable £16 million .
Only Conte's magic has given us hope .

I speak as neutral, more neutral than Switzerland. You have Conte: if he decides to create a winning environment he does it and if he is still there he means that he is "studying" for the summer. Conte will ask for 200. Levy will leave to give 50 and in the end that will come to a good compromise. Furthermore, he has already begun the purge. For the rest, I repeat: you have 3 better teams than you in terms of player quality. You must have confidence and above all awareness.

Conte in 2011-2012 made Juventus win the championship that came from a seventh place and a lot of fools. Even with Chelsea he took over a seventh-place team. And Inter, who in Italy called themselves "Pazza Inter amala", also suffered a shock with his arrival. Conte said: "I don't want a crazy team!". You Tottenham fans are a bit melancholy, you are afraid. You have to get out of this "mental situation".
If only it was as simple as that. I'm sure every manaer would just go out and create a winning environment.

We can go all out for both, surely? Top 4 will mean we can go for better players in the summer.

I wish we had the depth to go for both but we just don't. Sure we can try for both but realistically speaking our resources will have to be focused on one or the other. We can't keep playing Harry Like we do. We have no rotation with him. We all know what happens when Harry or Son is out. We'll have to field our "Weaker" players at some point. Let it rather be in the league than FA Cup.

On Woolwich, its jist bizarre how they find a way to rescue their drudge.

Honestly they are not that good and have no mental team but somehow they find something.

That team now have so little but may be what they also don't have us prima donnas or destabilising influences.

It is fcuking frustrating whatecer it is that keeps them floating.
They’ve got a decent, well balanced 11. Lots of comfortable footballers and some solid defenders. They lack punch but are better than us everywhere apart from our goalscorers (Lloris aside)

I say go all out for the FA Cup. Why should we even bother for Fourth? It's not like the extra money will actually be used to bolster the squad. Levy needs to build his museum and Apartment Block.

Let win something. Let's be a club who actually have bragging rights and not just believe they entitled to Bragging rights. It's embarrassing how some believe it's ok to trash teams like Leicester, because, "We are Spurs."

This time I'm intentionally quoting myself. So, 'Sons of Levy's, please don't get too excited.

Airfixx Airfixx . Is Your disagree button stuck on press again? Or do you actually have a contribution? What exactly do you disagree with? Are you truely dillusional enough to believe we have the players available to aim for both?

The FA (without replays) doesn’t hinder our PL efforts. It’s nothing like as challenging as away travel in Europe on a Weds/Thursday. The games are on a PL free weekend until the semis

Within the body of your response lies the painful answer.

Careful. I was dubbed a Woolwich supporter for raising the same point. We have Zero midfield, one Good Defender, One Wingback that is Ok ( Not Good by any means.) And Three Strikers I'd consider Good. I think 2 players would walk into Liverpool, City or Chelsea (Kane and Son). Lucas and Reggie would be squad players. The rest would have been shipped on loan to Spurs

I understand we don't have many extra games. The worry is that one injury of the 'Greats' will kill our hopes. Loose Kane, Son, Lucas, Hugo or Romero (again) and it's written on the wall.

Agree but 3 extra games (which don’t involve much travel and are well spaced out) don’t increase that risk by much…. Do you want them not to train and sleep in an oxygen tent too? You can’t bubble wrap them, we have options to rotate a bit

If you were debating another 11 games in the UCL I would definitely agree but the FA is fine

I suppose you weren't following what had happened to us the last few seasons. Overplaying Kane and Son was a major problem. If you played any football, you'd also know that training injuries vs match injuries are minimal. Sure you can only (Big word coming up, I hope you can understand) mitigate and not totally remove the risk of injury. If you have a squad as 'thin' as ours, you have no option but to use key players more on your focus area. Conté is in the very same situation Jose was. Some are calling for his head already because Emerson, Sanchez, Davies and Winks were left on the field for far too long. Who would have been their replacements?

Haha I’ve played at step 4 twice a week and still turned out for my Sunday side so no sympathy from me ;-)

I absolutely here ya re: overplaying, just saying I think we can manage a few games in the FA without killing our PL form. I think Berg can cover Son, and Son can cover for Kane. No reason for Kane and Son to ply 90 every week.

Happy to propose replacements for Emerson, Sanchez, Winks and Hoj - I think he might stumble across some solutions within our squad

This bit:

Can't be fuck debating with you..... Quick X and I moved on. 👍

Can’t believe this is even up for discussion. We should aim to play to win every game. Why the need to rest. There is plenty of gaps in the calendar. Son has just 4 weeks off. The whole team have hardly played that much done the turn of the year. They should be able to handle weekend cup games plus pl. they could just as easily get injured in a pl game as a cup game.
