It will change when ENIC move on. Had enough rebuilds and it's the same shit. Not very big or strong as far CBs go, and doesn't jump very high either. He got bodied by Michail Antonio, and a few others before he got injured. Same problem we had with Toby and Jan imo, lost count of how many headers Toby lost in his last two seasons.
He doesn't seem very communicative, Dier used to always do the "push up" gesture to keep Sanchez and Davies in line, set up walls, set pieces etc. Maybe he'll do better with Dier who can be the physical presence to deal with set pieces and let Romero be the more technical and aggressive player.
If Dier was less slow and clunky, we can push our back line up, and really let Romero loose, knowing that someone else will cover for him when he inevitably loses one of those challenges.
I'd rather have Sissoko. At least he was a trier and a bit of a blunt battering ram

Defensively this team is fucking shocking! How the fu#k have we ended up with a squad that consists of so many technically poor, lack of composure, weak minded players like Davies, Sanchez, Winks, Emerson, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon, Doherty, etc? From the first missed pass or opposition attack the said players just fall apart and would rather be anywhere else than playing for Spurs. It’s going to take years to sort this out. How the fuck has Levy let it come to this? In any other top job repeated poor performance combined with year on year regression would lead to the sack. I want to cling to some positives but I’m struggling. Even the manager is making bizarre decisions and cannot seem to fathom that the midfield is getting overrun every game. Is this Club just broken?

The last thing we need is yet another change of manager. At what point do we realise these players are just done? Almost all of them. We can't just tweak here and there then get another manager and hope that solves it.
TBF you can make a strong argument that he isn’t a good fit, successful, gets the best out of elite players and above all is a short term 2-3 year manager.
We aren’t spending £300m in the summer, by the time we get a squad ready for him he will be gone then we need another rebuild. Poch worked because he is elite as a project manager working with young players.
That Conte might not fit doesn’t reflect badly on Conte it reflects badly on us and ENIC. It suggests only project managers who can developer a squad over time can work under our model.
Boro will be well up for it, that is the concern. Trailing 2-0 today and our players had no urgency about them. When it looked like we could break we instead slowed it down. Nobody making runs, nobody showing for the ball. We show the same attitude as the last two games, and we're toast.
