Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The truth is we're in a wonderful little cycle of shitness at present and NO-ONE is exempt from the blame. Not Son, not Kane and not Conte.

But the problems start and end with ENIC and Levy who are letting us drift far away from where we aspire to be.

We know we'll not give Conte what he wants. Why? Because we know he'll want it every transfer window thereafter.

So what we desperately need for the job is a pure man manager, someone who can take a ragtag bunch of misfits and make the sum of the parts into a coherent unit.

Does that person exist and even if they do...would they want to come to Spurs?

Of course. But there has to come a point where surely they realise that. They cant let it go on forever can they? It serves them no purpose to be badly run. Quite the opposite, just like any other club or business on the planet.

In terms of giving Conte what he wants - they have to. The got rid of the players he didn't want in the squad in january after all. I'm sure he wanted more in, we all did. For the first time since we moved to the stadium we will have a full year's income to spend on wages and fees. That's £100m to spend on top of the TV money and whoever we sell. If they don't back him then, what really is the point?

Still think PSG would, Juve a possibility. Regardless i feel he's a proud bloke that hates losing so dont see him hanging around just to pick up his wedge whilst his reputation gets shredded.
His reputation is not being shredded though no one thinks Conte is the reason for our problems they pre-date him. We need serious investment especially that our Academy struggles to bring through players.

The problem we have, is there are things that Daniel Levy just refuses to invest in. Have you been to the new stadium. It is a great stadium but it takes so long to get a beer and we have run out of alcohol at big events. This is because Levy does not hire an event company to run it properly so the staff are under trained and there is a high turn over, while he is willing to spend £1bn to build it. The same with scouting we have under spent for years on the network and it has been top heavy. We also have failed with the academy we need to find someone who can run it and run it for the long term.

Every single person on here can see that we need a better MF and WBs to break down masses teams. We have the defend and counter sorted but there’s only so many teams do that against us.

I see Conte’s comments about us playing as a relegation team about confidence and - if anything - aimed at Sess, Royal, PEH and Winks who made little effort to attack. There’s no confidence in those positions - Dier leads the back, Kane the front, but nothing in this transitions. Maybe Bentancur but there’s no-one else to move the ball quickly or direct traffic and so we are always passive and reactive. Too many followers in those positions, waiting to be told what to do.
We actually miss Sissoko he used to actually drive the ball forward and this is from someone who did not rate him.

This guy seems like a brilliant guy to take us forward. Either back him, or give up. If you can't get it to work with this guy, then who else?
That's the thing.

Who, running the club within Levy's parameters, could we get?

And if he's not going to bankroll Conte, He's not going to bankroll Ten Hag or anyone else.

Conte is fast becoming the searchlight illuminating the incompetence of the board.

Think the fans have really had enough now. All the managers apart from nuno. We need serious investment in the squad 4th was there for us this year that's gone. Its very worrying how we are.

We dominated the game but didn't come away with the points. So where did it go wrong; or rather the better question - who didn't do their job?

Royal - Slow to make decisions. Got in MANY good positions, but the ball was never delivered.
Sessegnon - Failed to get behind or beat defenders.

Our system is heavily dependant on good deliver from our full backs - of which we don't have any of that style.

Kane, Holjberg, Romero, Dier, Son, Kulu all looked decent; but out lack of full backs strangles us. We must adapt to a new formation/system that doesn't require the full backs to be pivotal to our attack; however we do not have an Eriksen-style playmaker to run the show through the middle.
I thought Son was very poor and could easily have played Kane in but chose the wrong option

Conte seems like a great fit. Everybody likes him and it feels like it could be a great new project. I'm already in. The football has been exciting again. All the parts are there. But he isn't gonna stay without big backing. I really hope they back him and it starts to look good, 'cos if he stays with backing we could actually do well again!

Something just doesn't feel quite right at the mo though. To me, I think the Newcastle takeover was the moment things changed. No club can compete with what Newcastle have and it won't be long before Newcastle are up there at the top with City and Chelsea. If you're looking at the league now, unless there's a change of approach at Spurs, we're just gonna become one of the other 5 or 6 teams, aiming for a possible 4th place, without the financial clout to go for it every year like we did for a while under Poch. We were pushing to be one of the big boys back then... That push now seems a lot less realistic in the long run with the likes of Newcastle being able to bulldoze their way to the top. Unless there's a change of approach at Spurs, I feel like realistically, we might have to return to looking at 6th, 7th, 8th in the league again.... maybe 4th if we have a good year... Hope I'm wrong about all that, but money talks and Newcastle, Chelsea and City all have obscene money...

It's not as straightforward like that though. Only Dele really left. Gil, NDombele, Lo Celso can all come back next season. Knowing Levy, he doesn't like to sell players below his unrealistic valuation of them. If they and few more being forced out at all cost in the summer, it's a lot of money down the drain from Levy's perspective.

So still plenty of conflict of interest right now. Conte is not asking for investment to finish top 4. He's asking an investment to turn this team into title challenger. Title challenging is good for the football club, but for the investing company it may not be as profitable with minimal investment and barely get CL football. That is a lot of money from Levy's perspective.

In this latest post match, Conte kinda admitted that top 4 may not be possible for this season. Which again losing a lot of money from Levy's perspective.

The cheaper option is very tempting for Levy. So we never know for certain which is gonna happen.

Decent post, would argue that the football is exciting, I don't think it is. The other thing to remember is that Liverpool are well ahead of us and I've no doubts with the right appointment Man Ure will be as well.

So is that what we're offering Conte. Do well and you might get 6th?

I think our only option is a project manager, someone who will take the time and slowly build a squad up. A well defined system, and working towards a point 4 or 5 years down the line where we bring it all together. But who is that person?

All I hope is that this doesn't turn into a fucking circus, though judging by the amount of clowns, elephants in the room and a goalkeeper who has returned to being a juggler, PT Barnum could be our next manager.
