I'd kinda hope that is the case if Conte has his heart set on a bunch of 30 y/olds.....

Let's then spend what we do have in the kitty on guys that will be around for a while.... Ideally the more 'athletic' positions on the pitch (i.e. WB).
I really hope the club and Conte both compomise a bit. Fine getting in a couple of 30 year olds but dont pack the side with them and should be balanced out with some youngsters.

Aaron Wan Bisska anyone? I know he's been struggling at Man Utd. but maybe - repeating maybe - he could improve under other circumstances - which Walker-Peters is an example of. KWP failed to impress 3 head-coaches - as well as the fans - but now he's doing well at Soton.

Wan-Bissaka for sale in summer
Manchester United will sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer, according to reports.
TEAMtalk understand that Ralf Rangnick is set to offload the full-back when he moves upstairs at the end of the season.
The ex-Crystal Palace man has been playing second fiddle to Diogo Dalot since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.
I think his problem is lack of guile or end product. In which case not for me. Royal as shit as he is can tackle. We need a footballer at RWB

Wank-Bissaka, sign him up, his nickname writes itself!

RWBs we should look into:

1) Ridle Baku
2) Pedro Porro
3) Stefan Lainer
4) Wilfried Singo
5) Tariq Lamptey
6) Tino Livramento
7) Ricardo Pereira
8) Kyle Walker-Peters
9) Djed Spence
10) Manuel Lazzari

Ideally we would try to sign two of these players and get rid of both Royal and Doherty but that will never happen in one summer.

Trim the list down a bit..... What ones do you consider genuinely good enough to be a starter for us for the next few years or more?

(I've crossed a few off and explained why; which leaves the ones I don't know enough about.)

For now, Livremento would be my 1st option.
I am sure that Spurs are keeping an eye on Livramento but 1) he's ll cost a small fortune, 2) no one seems to know exactly how Chelski's buy-back option will work. Well, here it's said it can be activated in 2023 but it does not explain how that would work out. Can Livramento refuse to re-sign with them? If a 3rd club buys him can Chelski still exercise this buy-back option?

Tottenham transfer news: Paratici working on signing Tino Livramento, fee will be 'mega money' - Sources

Tottenham have set their sights on signing Southampton right-back Tino Livramento this summer – and have already made preliminary moves.

The Londoners are in the market for a wing-back who can play on the right side and fit into Antonio Conte’s system after failing to land Adama Traore in January

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Livramento, 19, is a leading target for recruitment chief Fabio Paratici and he is already making preliminary moves.

Signing a wing-back who can defend and attack with aplomb is a key priority for the recruitment chief and manager Antonio Conte, as it was in January.

Livramento has made a big impact for Southampton since signing from Chelsea last summer in a £5million deal.

He has started 20 Premier League matches among 24 appearances in all competitions, and been the first choice for the entire campaign.

At Spurs, Matt Doherty has started the club’s recent matches at right wing-back after 2021 signing Emerson Royal was previously the number one for most of the campaign.

Neither has completely convinced Conte and it is likely that a one will leave with a new right-sided defender arriving this summer.

Livramento’s asking price has climbed significantly this season after he moved from Chelsea without playing a single first-team match.

As per Calciomercato last Saturday (26 February), Man United are also keen on the teenager.

The Athletic claimed in September 2021 that Chelsea have a £38million buy-back option which becomes active in 2023.

Former Tottenham right-back Alan Hutton told Football Insider that Livramento is destined for a stellar career.

“It’ll be an interesting one to keep an eye on this summer. Livramento is a brilliant talent who would really improve that squad – especially if they’re looking to play with wing-backs.

“But it’s going to cost them mega-money, that’s for sure.”
Kid is 19.

Kid has played only 20 ish pro games.

Spurs fans: yeah let's go all out for him. 50 mil? Splash it, Daniel!

Baku's stats this season at Wolfsburg are no better than Royal's

Gil (loan recall)
Bentancur & Kulu & Romero- buy permanently

That's the sort of clear out we need if we want this squad to have a chance of winning trophies.
Re your sell list:
  • Only an extra 2m for Sanch compared to Rodon?! Okay pal...I'm thinking more 20 odd mil for Sanch and max 7-8 for Joe
  • 20 mil for Reggy? Don't think Levy would sign off on that...more like 25-30. And 15 mil for Sess? Again, I admire your boldness...I'd drive him to his new club for 10
  • If we get someone to spend 20 mil outright on Hoj, I'm buying you lunch! And I'd rather sell Winksy
  • Bergwijn I'd happily take 15 mil. Lo Celso at 25 mil too, but I think it'd be incl bonuses...other teams aren't as silly as Spurs. I'd hope we could get an extra 10 mil for Dombs, especially if he goes to PSG
  • But though it's good to dream, I really don't think we'll get rid of all that deadwood in one window...probably more like 3 or 4

Re your buy list:
  • You ain't getting Lisandro for 25 mil, unless Ajax somehow accept a swap with Sanch and they value him at 20 odd mil
  • Why oh why would Bremer come to Spurs when he's got pretty much all the elite clubs after him? And 30mil, you're dreaming AGAIN
  • Mazraoui is a walking injury and overrated, poor attitude too
  • 20 mil for a Ch'ship player with no PL experience at such a key position for a Conte team?
  • Swapping Sosa for Reggy is pointless but okay...
  • McNeil for 25mil to play him LWB?!?!
  • Here's the Bissouma hype train again
  • Raphina I'd take, no probs here
  • Gouiri would've no interest in Spurs and Nice (owned by Ineos) would laugh at our 30 mil

Loving your attitude, though 😊

Igula Igula Our squad is so far off being competitive, this is the sort of radical changes we would need to even be competitive. Not going to happen though.
Alfie to back up Hugo? Hmmm no thanls.

Bremer at Spurs is laughable enough, but to play back up to Dier?! 🤣

Mazraoui/Spence/McNeil/Sosa - see previous reply. Ditto re Biss and Gouiri.

But hell, I'd love to have you in a meeting with the board to discuss transfers 🤣

This season, Gouiri has played 19 games at CF, and 3 games at LW.
The fact he's versatile is a strength, means he's back up for Kane & Son. Surely that's what we need to lessen their load?

I did say in the post above, Bissouma only if he's found not guilty. If the trial hasn't happened yet, or he's found guilty, then perhaps we should go for Neves.
Genuine question: how many games have you seen of Neves and Bissouma? Not highlights, even extended ones, but full 90?

Same question for any of the players you got on your hitlist.

I know this is not going to happen- I've already said that many times.

My point is that our squad needs many out and many in if we are to be competitive- shows the scale of the problem.

The closest Levy has come to a radical window is 15/16. In that summer, he sold 10 players, bought 5, and we also had 5 people coming back from loan.
The principle, I can agree with.

In my mind, we need a good 10 or 12 out and as many in.

But ain't ever gonna happen.
