Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s not just the individual games as well it’s the way players seem to improve under him, we still look hit and miss but at our best we can take on anyone it feels like. The longer he is here the more consistent we will become I feel.

Yeh, I don't even have any particular games in mind; just the overall improvement of our best......

Best under Nuno & latter-day Jose was skin of our teeth, smash and grab stuff......

At our best under Conte we create chances for fun.

I do actually enjoy Conte Ball, sometimes yes it very defensive but we all can do great passing combination through the opposition and really break down teams. It’s clear the squad needs probably 5-7 signings in the summer to complete it but at least we have a path now which which haven’t had since Poch.

Defence and midfield, along with a proper senior backup 9 who can also cameo for Son or Kulu when they need a rest has got to be priority.

That's honestly a top LCB, a backup central CB, a top rwb and top lwb, a creative but box to box CM who can step in right away, and a talented forward.

6 players. If we can sell lo Celso, ndombele, winks, Dav, rodon, one of Reguilon or sessegnon, and Emerson, and have say an extra 100 million to invest from non transfer based revenues, we should be able to do it.

Then next summer is planning for revamping our ageing forward lineup so we're finally being proactive again.

To be fair the squad is very, very thin. We need a new winger, new back up striker, 2 solid midfilders still, one of them defensive beast like Kante, and a real creative one, 2 top WB, and to be fair i will change at least 2 of our 3 CB.
I just don't see Levy allow us to sign that many players.

I think the really pleasing thing is that, with players we know aren’t all that but just happen to be round pegs in round holes, we’re seeing the team exactly the structure and look in control of matches the past few games (pretty much since Leeds onwards). Even the match we lost was a match in which we were the better team but sloppiness, rather than structure, cost us.

So then you think, imagine if we replace Rodon with a very good LCB to relegate Davies to back up, Winks with a top class CM who relegates Højbjerg, and Emerson with a high level RWB who pushed Doherty down the pecking order. First team and bench all upgraded so therefore Conte’s plan should look even better.

It’s not a science and all the players I’ve mentioned still have a role to play as they’re at least premier league quality, experienced and able to execute Conte’s plan, so Davies Doherty and Højbjerg will always see plenty of the pitch, but now that we know the machine is good, we need to give it better parts.

Not a dig at you here, you just happened to say it but....
When did we last play a defensive style of football?

Wasn't against West Ham, Brighton, Manure, Everton, Leeds and I'd contest it wasn't against Burnley, City, Wolves or Southampton.

Sometimes, like against City, you just have to accept you'll have a bit less of the ball, but I never felt like our only aim in that game was to defend, we had plenty of chances to score and all our goals came as a result out passing out from the back.

Having watched a few of these I have noticed that he rarely celebrates our first goal if we go 1-0 up. Or he at the very least celebrates it much more reservedly than he does our second or third goals.

I find small details like this interesting. The first goal is just business. The second or third is when he starts to party.
guess it was 15 minutes in and he knows how good Spurs are at shitting the bed.

Conte is genuinely pragmatic. Not the pragmatic = defensive style of Nuno and Jose.

Yes we will low block in periods, but we will build from the back with passing combinations and create overloads in transition. Don’t see how any spurs fan can be unhappy with his blueprint.

The underlying numbers both attacking and defensive shows his structure is great, we just need the upgrades in the right areas; “This is how we’re going to play -WEED OUT THE WEAK” (Michael Owen)

"Pirlo is one of the few people in the world of football with whom, when there is the possibility of being together, I share several moments, even with their respective families. He is an exceptional person, it was a pleasure to have been his coach in a period in which someone thought that his career was now at an end, when he left Milan. He was one of those who helped me most, together with Buffon and Del Piero, in the enterprise of bringing a group of young boys to win the first Scudetto and open a cycle of victories at Juventus ".

Low benchmark

I don’t think there’s a worse manager in the history of the PL than that bearded fraud (and i include Santini, Gross and Cuntwood). Arcspace would have yielded five more points than that dumb mute

Yeah I’m pretty sure he’s a few sandwiches short. What’s the saying about genius and insanity?
Lol, yeah Spurs fans act like his comments after we lose are some 4D chess game he's playing with Levy for funding.

I think he's just pathologically incapable of tolerating losing and can't contain himself emotionally after losses.

Nah there's been worse easy. The Epl has seen some epic frauds. Marco Silva, Phil Brown. Nuno was shit for us but decent for Wolves. Something happened don't understand why he was forbade playing the only system he had made work as a coach. Not sure we will ever know what happened but it'd a weird one.
