Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I really wish Conté would speak out about this tactic of kick Tottenham off the pitch to beat them. I would have made a complaint about the referee Graham Scott allowing Docherty to be kicked out for the season, Mings to do a coward's tackle and Ashley Young trying to end Harry Kane's career.

The manager should step up to protect his players IN PUBLIC!!
Scott is a danger he constantly lose control of games, completely out of his depth and a real aloof, oddball.

I don't understand why it's so hard to admit that this is a recurring pattern and a serious worry for us. It's not the horror show Mourinho/Nuno but man we cannot live with any real intensity.

Since Conte came we are the 3rd best team in the league. Should we be worried about that?

His football at times invites pressure to create space elsewhere - and then playing into that space you have created - this needs works still and yet clearly his coaching is working as we are scoring for fun now.

Some players are still struggling in receiving the ball under pressure as we all know. But the new players he has got in are much more comfortable receiving the ball.
And it seems we can literally score in 3 passes and 20-30 seconds from any area of the pitch. That’s a huge worry for other teams.

So I think it’s a serious worry more for you than most tbh.
The points on the board and the goals for / against columns are not lies.

To be clear I’m not saying we don’t need to worry about it at all.
And I’m sure it’s on conte’s mind too. But that’s how teams improve.
A few more additions who are technically able and we can be a real force next season that City and Liverpool need to worry about it.

Rumour he has COVID?

If Don Conte has the Convids, then I can;t see it affecting too much, by rights he doesn;t have to isolate so as long as he is feeling ok then all is good.
If not, I vote we install Conte Cam in his hotel room or wherever he will be watching, that would be a good watch.

Considering we couldn't create chances for shit before Conte, that is pretty remarkable.
You can see how conte transitions from defence to attack is different to Mourinho and Poch from the style of rondos he does in training. It's "passing from the back" that ends with a "counter attack". Mourinho was just pure lighting fast 70 yard peach from Kane to Son long balls, Conte is more intricate.

In most training videos I've seen teams just do one touch/two touch rondos of various intensity levels. Conte drills rondos with specific final long ball over the top as the goal. So he sets up two seperate rondo groups next to each other. Start like a traditional rondo, but after a certain number of short passes (let's say 12) one player must launch a ball over the top to the other rondo group. The group that does that first wins.

The final goal against man city was a perfect execution of that plan. We passed the ball around, drawing the opposition in and then Bentancur sent in that ball over the top to Kulusevski, who was completely free on the wing.

The rate at which we've been able to get in behind, with a significant amount of free space is really impressive.

The problem is that our player struggle terribly in the build up if pressed, and the final ball is often not as accurate as it should be. IMO, Eriksen would be perfect for that role as the final outball player.

Stellini Cam could be entertaining too, he looks like a bloke you wouldn’t mess with!

All good until you said Eriksen.

Just no.

Why not? I mean I'd rather have Sergej Milinković-Savić but if we're talking cheap/free then Eriksen is perfect, he used to deliver pin point short/medium range crosses like this for Dele/Kane every week.

Because he was appalling for a long time.
He obviously lost his way for a while before his transfer, but he eventually found his footing at Inter. Doing well at Brentford now.

Again, from the perspective of a bargain deal for a potentially world class player, it's hard to beat.

Hopefully that won't impact tactics or playing style at all. Stellini has been his assistant for years. And you know that Conte will be available through the phone if need be for tactical changes.

Hopefully we don't have an outbreak among the players since we have already had one.
Contes sheer presence and energy counts for a lot, especially with our players who constantly need a rocket up their arses to get motivated.

if Conte is not involved at the weekend it will be hugely negative, especially against Brighton after their good result last week. It's a very crucial time and we can't afford any slip ups.
