If Liverpool buy him, I wouldn't mind us making an offer for Keita. He's the type of allrounder - who can do a bit of everything, tackle, press, technical, energy, drive forward and doing attacks - that we need. Can play 6 or 8 in CM2 or CM3.

Injuries and a settled successful system have meant he's not found regular consistent football there, but he'd bring something none of our CM's do.

He's a good midfielder but you highlighted the issue, injuries. Liverpool would probably want a fair fee as he's a solid option for them and he'd want a good wage too. When fit he would have a lot to offer but sadly he's been highly unreliable in that regard since he arrived in England.

Should he leave Barca it looks as if Man Utd or Bayern will be his destination.. £58m is a lots of money, and he's not done that well for Barca...but he could be the missing piece in Spurs' MF...

Manchester United have received a major boost in their bid to sign midfielder Frenkie de Jong with Barcelona looking to sell the Dutchman this summer for around £58million.

De Jong, who joined Barcelona from Ajax for £64m in 2019, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford following the news of Erik ten Hag's appointment.

The 24-year-old played under the Dutch manager during his time at Ajax, where Ten Hag helped him develop and attract interest from Barca among other elite clubs, following a string of superb displays during the 2018-19 season.

He did well his first season or two there. The quality at Barca has decreased. I think he is a great player.

Wonder if this history would make a possible move to us more or less likely...

I mean, it's definitely not going to happen but he could be great for us

That deal is impossible. De Jong will try to get a move another super club like Bayern, or Juve. Failing that he'll go after money at United, Chavs etc.

He'd be too expensive regardless.

Getting CL would completely change the fortunes of Woolwich or spurs whoever manages to not choke.

One of these 2 clubs will be title contenders next season due to the sheer quality of players (owing to CL)they can attract and a reasonable settled squad

Questionable - they’ll still be managed by Artwatta. He’s not as big a draw as you think and even IF they got CL, knocked out in group stages.

Liverpool are apparently the leading candidate but I'd like for Spurs to make an offer of, say, £60m so Liverpool have to better that offer as a "thanks" for last time

It would remind me of that time we put a bid in for Danny Ings just to cost them a few million in homegrown compensation towards Burnley.
:levylol:

can he head the ball?
Did some mandatory youtube scouting and he seems good in the air based on the limited number of headers in this video. But he is 6ft5 so you'd hope that he was good in the air.

But he looks really good overall. Lots of similarities to Romero, only left footed.

Nabil can probably give us a more detailed rundown since he watches the Portuguese league. But we could be on to something here.

TOTTENHAM, Leeds and Fulham are weighing up a summer move for Derby wonderkid Malcolm Ebiowei.

The 18-year-old winger is unlikely to stay at Derby with his contract expiring at the end of next month.

German side, RB Leipzig and Crystal Palace have also been monitoring the teenager.

The former England Under-16 international was on Woolwich’s books early in his career.

He then had a spell north of the border at Glasgow Rangers before joining the Rams on a short-term deal last summer.

Ebiowei is among the plethora of youngsters used by Derby boss Wayne Rooney in the cash-strapped club’s desperate bid to maintain Championship status that resulted in failure.

Although his contract runs out, Ebiowei will still command a fee with Woolwich, Rangers and Derby all in line for a share of compensation payments.

Any good?

they won't be. It took Klopp 3.5 years to win the title and overhaul his squad. We are quite some way off them and city (look at the points). You also forget that under Levy we don't exactly show ambition in the transfer market when on an upward trajectory. If we get 4th, I expect that we will get 2 signings that will end up improving the team, and another 1-2 that don't make an impact. 3rd next season and much closer on pts to the top 2 would represent good progression
