Pope is very good.. However Johnstone being on a free is right up Paratici's street and addresses an area with low outlay. Him and Dybala on frees would both be great additions and no immediate cost.

Another is that Inter are in such a dire financial position, that maybe they don't risk Bastoni knowing they can probably fetch £40m for him this summer.

Martinez is coming into his best now and in the coming years, I think Dybala's best is behind him. But could you see Martinez playing RW? Dybala on a free makes it very enticing though.

Arthur Theate is not my first choice LCB (that's Gvardiol who would cost £50m) but I am warming up Theate. He.s young, fairly good in the air and a (very) good passer. And just turned 22. He will, of course, take some time to eg adjusted to the EPL and while he does that I am ok with Davies playing LCB until that happens (presuming Theate will "adjust," of course).

Arthur Theate was born in Liège on May 25, 2000 and grew up in football academies Standard he was born in Genk, the companies that annually churn out Belgium’s best talent. That the 2000 class had talent was there for all to see, as evidenced by the numerous convocations in the youth national team.
Yet, although he still showed enormous room for improvement, Theate was sold to Oostende, where he signs his first contract as a professional. The agreement signed with the Flemish club was expected to last three years, but the defender takes only one to establish himself as one of the best performers in the Pro League.
He only needed 38 appearances (seasoned with 5 goals) to convince Bologna to take him to the court of Siniša Mihajlović. Theate arrives in Emilia as a mysterious object, nothing is known about him, but the Serbian coach is not one who pulls back and throws him into the fray as soon as he has the chance. He made his debut with the rossoblùs on 18 September 2021, replacing the injured De Silvestri in the difficult match against Inter. The result was now compromised, but the San Siro audience was impressed by the charisma shown by that 20-year-old long hair and curiosity became admiration when he headed the only goal in Bologna in the 6-1 final.
15 appearances and 2 goals later, Arthur Theate has become one of the most intriguing young players in Serie A and many Italian big names and are not ready to invest large sums to take him away from Emilia.
The strength of Theate is undoubtedly its enormous flexibility. At home, the Belgian grew up in a four-man defensive line, but once he arrived in Bologna, Mihajlović weaned him, throwing him as a left “arm” in a trio.
Precisely that position seems to be the one in which the 2000 class can best express its characteristics. When the winger gets wider, he has the ability to get on the ball and set the action using his excellent technical skills. With Theate on the pitch, the rossoblùs can also afford to stay a little taller, given that with his speed he has no problem chasing their opponents.
In an emergency situation, the Serbian coach also deployed him as fourth on the left, with decent results, but in a not so distant future it cannot be ruled out that the Belgian may also position himself as a set-half in front of the defense. .
