Conte wants a physically big striker

It would cost the double. Not proved at a top league.

Leverkusen don't sell their players cheaply. He will probably cost around 60-70 mill which is what Benfca would want for Nunez. Yeah not being proven in a top league is a risk but the same could have been said of Diaz and he is doing fine at Liverpool. What I like about Nunez is that he is physically a monster and is not afraid to impose himself, but he is quite mobile too and can play effectively down the left wing as well as through the centre, so could be an option to rotate with both Son and Kane. Schick is more of a central striker.

I like Darwin. But I really think his lacklustre technical level will be highly exposed in the premier league. I could see him being another Werner.

I think we're better off sticking with Emerson and Doherty than replacing them with any of these players.

Unless we're getting proven quality in that position, it's not worth it. I would hate it if we sold Emerson off and replaced him with someone with a few fancy ball skills but can't defend. Wing-back is a defensive position and defensive attributes should be the first consideration.

Gareth Bale was originally signed as a full-back but despite his obvious talent on the ball he took a couple of seasons to establish himself in the team and he certainly didn't succeed because of his defensive qualities. My assessment of Spence is along similar lines. He is still a player in development and may find that his attacking talents supersede his defensive ones and will therefore be no good to us as a wing back.

If the aim is to build a team that can compete for the League and the Champions League, we need wing backs who can defend. If their attacking qualities are deficient, they focus on getting the ball to the players who can attack (as Emerson has been doing).
No disrespect but I can’t think of a post I disagree with more.
