If Conte wants him, I want him.

Lenglet was highly rated at Sevilla, Barcelona is a tough place for defenders.

If getting Lenglet means we can spend big on Lautaro Martinez, I am all for it.

Agree for the most part. I'd rather we went for Torres/Ndicka/Lisandro Martinez than Lenglet to be honest, but I agree that he'll look a better player on left of a back three with Conte coaching him. He has great ability with the ball, but makes some terrible errors

Yeah a case of not perfect, but could suit the setup under this manager. The errors will be minimised by the system, we can see that even Sanchez hasn't been a disaster when he's played under Conte. It's not a signing anyone would be jumping for joy over, but may just suit that need for a LCB without blowing the bank.

Lenglet has been shit the past 2 years at Barca but in the past 2 years they have ruined many players

If you look at him he has the same passing range as Bastoni, maybe if we get him on a loan it's because something else has come up like a wingback or midfielder we didn't think was available now is

Just remember how "shit" Bentancur & Kulusevski were before they joined us, we aren't signing anyone Conte doesn't want, and he did sign some crap that he made into players at Inter

If Lenglet comes to Spurs, I imagine its most likely to be as an upgrade on Rodon, who for whatever reason has not played much under either Conte nor Mourhino.

In UEFA terminology its one 'overseas trained player' out and one 'overseas trained player' in

unless we are saving the money for hakimi on the rwb this makes no sense we have 150m to spend and we are looking at lenglet
Like, I agree with you, there are many better options than Lenglet. I'd even go for somebody like Salisu from Southampton instead of him. But Conte would make Lenglet look a much better player than he has the last few years at Barca. Unless he has some physical issue that's caused him to decline.

150 million doesn't go as far as you'd think in 2022. Unless there's some defender out there who would shine regardless of system I'd rather we didn't blow half our budget on a CB. Bastoni ticked all the boxes for being worth a big fee, I'm not sure the others do.

I think he would suit a Left centreback of a 3 very well, remember before he signed for Barca he was world class

Salisu is the same as Ndicka, very good physically but we need better passers

If his hardly better than Rodon and tananga then why bother? Why don’t we just try to develop those two. It seems we have always but someone from overseas just for the sake of it. Let conte work his magic on our players and buy proper quality and not squad fillers.
Who is to say that either want to stay to as a squad player?

Barca fans think his issue is confidence/mentality since the Bayern thrashing.

“Nothing to do with our managers, it’s really a mental problem.

There were news that he cried numerous times in the dressing room because of his mistakes that led to goals/red cards and there’s some pictures from him crying in his car when leaving Camp Nou after games.

I don’t know what it is, but he has those random moments where his brain freezes and he does ridiculous mistakes.”

Lenglet is not a chump. He’s likely a better left center back than Davies. If he’s wanted to be a rotation player that’s pretty good.

And a loan would have zero risks
Yup. Definitely not a chump.

Not to mention that Paratici's recruitment MO is literally to have multiple names floating about until landing on a priority 1. Lenglet is probably just another in a long list of names.

but it's 150m on top of the pre-existing budget. That should go quite far.

Let's say 80m from all player sales, that gets you Bastoni with 10 to spare. With the remaining 160m you can get a decent RWB for 40m, and a top top CM for 80m, you still have 40m left over to do whatever you need. Get a backup striker for instance.
