Lol foul for quoting what you said before?

You're literally fuming that Sonny is about to overtake Harry in free kicks (along with everything else) aren't you?

Just be happy that we have a Spurs player that looks half decent at taking them - and certainly better than god awful Kane.

No. Kane is shit at free kicks. If we have an actually brilliant free kick taker, great. I'm just not moronic or naive enough to think scoring two free kicks on international duty vs two subpar keepers means he's a secret Ward Prowse.

I'll accept we have a good FK taker when we have one who scores them regularly for Spurs. I didn't think we had a good one when Dier scored a banger vs Russia, or when Lucas scored one vs Marine either.

I say let him have a crack at them. He can't possibly be any worse. In tight games the ability to stick one in the top corner from a free kick can be all the difference throughout the season.

🎶Heung-Min Son, Heung-Min Son
His free kicks are something to be scared of
He won’t ever, he won’t ever
Stop being Spurs, scoring for the Tottenham🎶

I’m retiring now. Live off the royalties.

Another thread hijacking.

You’d certainly be in the bin but the majority of the board has you on ignore. The only saving grace to you being universally disliked is that you are universally ignored.

You, sir, are pathetic.

Thing is - you don't and you're quoting it, making things worse

"you are my Son-shine" really is perfect song for Sonny, but the song expression Oozing is singing is my favorite. starts 17:45

Son Heung Min,
The Korean King
He's a yido
On the Tottenham wing
He won a medal; no service
Or going to war
Left foot, right foot;
As long as he scores

Haha yeah I absolutely love this bit from him along with his dancing. He's so fun to watch and Son being a goal scoring highlight machine there's plenty of entertainment.

That's great and all.. but the frustration is Son hasn't exactly been given a chance to take direct free kicks. He even scored from a free kick last year even though that was just an indirect free kick so to speak ffs.

We have a player that is at least capable of putting in some good attempts, and that is something to be happy about. But I see you on here constantly getting defensive about the situation for no real reason.

Give him a whole season of taking free kicks and I bet he scores more than any of our other players would.

Now I'm really convinced that he should take the FK. Just scored against Paraguay with a FK again.

Those 2 FK was beautiful by Son. Hope to see that in Spurs next season.

Nah, you're the one getting defensive with petty, sarcastic comments like 'but a PL keeper would have saved it!!' when clearly the first goal WOULD likely have been saved by a PL keeper. The second was very well struck.

As I've already said, unless a set piece specialist arrives, give him the chance to take some. If he starts bagging vs top keepers then we can throw our hands up and say 'why was Dier and Kane taking them?'

Hopefully Conte just does the right thing and further builds the attack around him. No more decisions based on player marketing and political reasons.

If we want to get better as a team, we need Son taking majority of our shots. It's absolutely stupid and criminal that he's only taking 60-80 shots a year while significantly less clinical attackers are taking 130-150+ shots a season.
None of us really know why Kane takes the free kicks. I don't buy it has anything to do with marketing/political/being English. If you were to ask me I think it's more due to the fact that Kane is one of the greatest goal scorers and his stature. So it's not a bad decision to let him take them but we all agree it hasn't worked out and it's time to give others a chance. At very least rotate them.

I would also like to see Son taking more shots but no matter, Son will play an integral part in Conte's plans. Conte knows what Son brings to the team even when doubters were calling Son to be benched which was ridiculous. I have no doubt Conte will continue to utilize Son where he can be most effective.

I really don't even care if it gets saved or not. The free kick conversion rate is so low it's almost guaranteed not to go in. All I really want to see is a good attempt and I would be content.

How many goals a season a set piece specialist convert on average? I might be wrong but would it be like between 2-3?

What we need/want is Son taking as many shots as possible given how clinical he is. He's literally the most clinical attacker in the league and we'd be wasting his qualities if he isn't our first and primary choice on attack.

The good thing is, Conte has already seem to have figured this out. Towards the last few months of the season, he's allowed him to spend a lot more time centrally and in and around the box. And the arrival of Kulu and Bent has been absolutely instrumental in allowing Sonny to just focus on what he's good at which is end product/final third play.

I fully expect more to come from Son next season and expect him to compete for another golden boot, even without taking any penalties.

2-3 sounds about right. I think Ward prowse scored 4 this season (?) and he's the best at it out there.

But yeah, good point in fairness. If he takes a few and they're looking like they're actually a threat, stick with him. Kane's are pathetic and Dier doesn't really worry the keeper, so unless Eriksen arrives nobody else is particularly threatening on them.

So Son needs to be 'bagging vs top keepers' when Dier and Kane have done none of this.. double standards.

100% Conte has been working his magic. You've already pointed out multiple times Son has been allowed to spend more time centrally and around the box which obvioulsy has worked out.

I think it will be very difficult for Son to challenge for the golden boot again without taking penalties. We'll be upgrading multiple positions thereby goal contributions will spread out more. I don't expect more goals for Son but slightly less closer to 20 I would guess.
