Even with the scenario that you outline, in that case then there will be tons of instalments from inward transfers of previous years to take into account? I know that doesn't affect the specific Richarlison scenario that started this tangent off, but on a wider scale, just thinking that payments for transfers in are spread over a number of years doesn't actually help much when you have payments for the likes of Iwobi, Tosun, Doucoure, Allan and whatever other dross they signed over the last 3 years still going out.

Thanks for taking the time to share, for the most part it's a half decent explanation, but then when discussing the Luiz sale from a Chelsea perspective it kind of just ignores everything it said in the purchase for PSG part about the fee being split over 5 years, and just calls it £40m incoming fee for their books.

I'm not specifically asking you to clarify this btw, I just always find the explanations fans give for this kind of thing seem to be tweaked in order to suit whatever they want to believe at any given time and find it amusing.

If we can get Bissouma, Spence, Bastoni/Torres, Richarlison/Jesus and Eriksen over the line, then our squad depth becomes one of the best in the league. Looking at the bench last year it was depressing with limited options to change a game.

After Grealish, he’s the most overrated, overhyped player in the PL.

I’m not saying he’s shit, he’s not, but the hype around him is ridiculous.

Just about every team in France has a player like him in their midfield. Good physique, decent athleticism with some football ability.

Villa just picked up one for free in Kamara. Very similar player type and attributes. There's a bunch of others with similar profile.
