No-one is expecting 80M here, 100M there.

I do expect us to pay 80M for a single player if they think he makes a big difference, as long as it’s balanced by smart 20M buys like Kulu and Bissouma

Yea, I would not mind.
But not for position that is among strengths of our squad.
And not for 20 yo player that has one year of top level experience.
And not for world record fee for such player.

I would be thrilled if we'd get Lautaro from Inter. Or Hakimi from PSG. Or Sterling from City. But not Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.

I'm not saying we were good, but that the players he identified as good/useful and the ones he saw as useless was pretty much spot on.

I'm saying that he didn't rate our defenders based on the way he couldn't settle on a back line, that's including several players that have since proved to be very good/top classunder Conte- so i do not agree that Mourinho’s judgement is all you are cracking it up to be

60 mill on player thats never scored more then 20 goals in any season

when you start going that high you want a game changer or at least someone you can think of in thee big games where you are going to bring someone on to make a difference im honestly not sure rich is that player

So which 20 goal a season player are we buying to sit on the bench?

By the way that player you are going to suggest must also be capable of playing all three front positions?

I'll wait.

You pay a premium for PL-proven. We could buy a 20 goal a season player from a foreign league and end up with another Bergwijn

Richarlson isn't an out and out CF either so 20 goals is a high bar with that in mind

not scoring 20 for a side like everton with the service there is no disgrace though. hes got iwobi feeding him, you seen that donkey?

if hes a legit good footballer he will thrive around better players, thats just how it works. the only players that can produce good numbers in shit teams are individuals. stick KDB in everton and you think hes getting the numbers?

Atletico Madrid record signing Joao Felix has insisted he is not going anywhere this summer transfer window and is determined to succeed at the club.

The Portuguese playmaker has failed to live up to the billing of his enormous price tag when he joined Atletico three seasons ago.

Touted as one of the biggest rising stars in European football, Atletico boss Diego Simeone parted with an eye-watering £115million to bring a 19-year-old Joao Felix to the club from Benfica.

But despite talk again this summer of a potential move being on the cards, Felix has made it clear he wants to remain in Simeone's side.

'A departure from Atletico is not on the table,' Felix told Marca.

'I'm fine and focused on Atletico. I'm calm about the future, aware of what I can do and I'm fine with myself.'

While showing great potential and obvious skill, Felix has yet to make the impact his price tag warranted.

In his three seasons at Atletico so far he has yet to reach double figures for goals in LaLiga. His best return came last season when he scored eight goals in 24 league matches.

This stands in stark contrast to his final season for Benfica, where he scored 15 league goals in 26 appearances and produced nine assists.

With Luis Suarez certain to leave Atletico after his contract expires this summer, Felix may be required to step up his game and take a bigger role in scoring goals for the club.

Sorry got to disagree. Gvardiol for me is a game changer. His signing puts us in the big league. Richarleson - not as good as Kane, Son or Kulu. Sterling behind Son. Raphinha - no better than Moura. Bastoni about as good as Davis. Hakimi the same. All good additions to rotate I'm sure. But Gvardiol really makes a statement. He is really an improvement.
