Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

People are getting well ahead with themselves in thinking the majority of fans owe Levy an apology. He has a lot of work to do to get trust from any of us.
If he spent every penny of this £150m this summer we'd still have one eye on what he does next summer and summer after.
Edit - and we'd still wonder what happened to transfer sales money and CL revenue.
Just shut the fuck up. About your 20th post today that is the same shit in different wording.

Surely the remit this summer was to improve the first team with LWB, RWB, left centre back and central midfield whilst improving the squad and adding more creativity. Peresic and Bissouma do improve the first team, Lenglet and Spence highly questionable. I'm sorry talking about summer 2023 is way off.

The universally acknowledged needs were:

RWB - ???
LWB - Perisic
LCB - ???
CM - Bissouma
ST2 - Richarlison
GK2 - Forster.

4/6 with over 2 months to go.

I'm usually wrong, I know, but haven't we bought only one player so far? The rest on freebies and bent and Kulu yet to be paid far? Forget all the disagrees.
I'm not stating this as a fact because I'm not as itk as others but tell where I'm wrong so I can see the proverbial light.
It's confusing for an old guy.....

Freebies are sadly not free - still multiple millions spent on 'signing on ' fees and agents fees. cheaper than paying £10m for a player but that's about as good as it gets.

We bought Bentancur in January, Kulusevski we paid a loan fee (£10m ?) for 18 months with an obligation to buy next summer.

Bissouma we have bought, and it looks like we are buying Richarlison and several outlets still suggest Gordon as well.

So as one oldie to another - glass half full in terms of being correct ?

We get nothing up front, the total potential fee is shrouded in mystery. Whatever we get will drop slowly over a long period.

We willingly signed the deal and binned off his substantial wages... I fail to see how we got screwed.

Many people were saying "just get rid", "he's finnished", "fee doesn't matter.... he's stealing a living"..... Now we're seeing an increasing amount of moaning about the deal.

So predictable.... We saw the same with Trippier (even though we made 20m profit on him!).

De Jong is a good player, but his wages are insane, expect that's why this deal is going ahead as they don't really want rid of him, just can't afford to continue paying him 400,000 euros a week and United's bid represents a recouping of his initial fee. Whether he will succeed in PL is another matter but he definitely has the capacity to do so.
Lenglet really is a castoff of Barca, this is very similar to the Royal deal IMO, if we pay them 25m their fans are gonna be pinching themselves. Hope we go for Bremer or Torres instead.

Yes and i was saying if 2 of those are Lenglet and Spence then they dont really improve the first team and a potentially good window looks a lot less so. Still an issue with creativity as well. I mean it might not be those 2, just going off the information as of today. Not everything has to be terrible but not everything has to be brilliant either.

Did they lock him in a room for 3 days and see if he came out alive?

They had to settle key issues around " who gets to do the wanky twunty telephone celebration , who gets the right hand and who gets the left hand and the duration "... apparently it was discussed who was allowed to be a "2 phone wanker too "

Years of Levy have turned our fans into absolute skinflints.

Who gives a shit if we overpay by a few million, the club have the money and it's not coming out of our pocket.

If the end result is Conte get's a player he wants then I am game.

Do you think any of the "big" clubs fans all sit around whining that they overpaid by £10m or so?

It's bizarre.

Anti-Leviers "Spend some fucking money you bald cunt!"

Levy buys Bissouma

Anti-Leviers "Good player. Only cost a few mill though - you didn't spend enough on him you fucking bald lizard! We need a financial statement signing"

Levy proceeds to line up £60m on Richarlison

Anti-Leviers "NO NOT THAT ONE, TOO EXPENSIVE, TOO MUCH MONIES, RAAAAAAGH BALD CUNT!"

I’d say most center backs look better in a back 5. Just look how much better dier and Davies do now. Lenglet was very good at Seville. Barcelona as been a house on fire lately. I believe there’s a quality player there. A loan as zero risks

Him in alongside Bremer wouldn't be the worst thing. I still don't know why we aren't going for Pau Torres, especially as we have lo celso as bait.
It's weird, I feel like Lenglet (on loan, with option to buy) would indicate some other CB target. Bremer would be better suited to rotating with Dier apparently, so could see the logic in spending money on him and essentially using Lenglet as a stopgap who we could buy if he suddenly surprised us with his quality.

And that's likely not a coincidence with Bastoni and Gvardiol seeming nigh on impossible this summer.
