My son played against Saka , definitely mentioned it before name dropper that I am . My son is decent had several trials but didn’t quite cut it . Saka was light years ahead of everyone but that is the exception, I agree in general with what you say

Hopefully the extent of their sportswashing is starting to become clear to the new owners. Their previous model was utterly unsustainable - ridiculous wages ratio vs turnover all personally bankrolled by one individual. City are the same but propped up by an entire oil state which is I guess more sustainable. Chelsea are fucked

That’s fantastic.

We’ve strengthened some “weak” positions (CM and LWB) and even some strong positions (£60m Richarlison is in no way a guaranteed starter because of Kane-Son-Kulu).

That’s fantastic.

But it leaves me puzzled about our RWB-strategy.

We seem to be getting Spence, a promising young player, which in itself is great.

In addition, we have Emerson and Doherty. They’ve both had some good and bad spells, but I don’t think either would be considered good enough to start in a title-chasing PL team. And as for Spence, I don’t think anyone would demand or expect that he can jump from the Championship to the first 11 in a title-chasing PL team.

So, although I basically like all 3, it just seems like our strategy for RWB is a bit disjointed from the rest of the strategy. It would make the most sense to get a better RWB than to get more RWB’s this season.

Teams will happily allow whoever we play at RWB the ball.

We really need someone with quality at RWB. It's the most critical signing for me out of any of the other positions.

There's too much emphasis on this position given our style of play. We need to make sure we have the right player in this position. The 3 options including spence are not it.
 
Still can't quite get my head around having Antonio Conte.

All goes back to making the CL final. Trophies are of course the most important thing but that night in Amsterdam was when I feel Spurs stepped into the big time in a lot of ways. Our club changed its course when Moura did what he did, it really elevated us.

First named as such in the Domesday book of 1086............it's not exactly new is it.

Hell, it wasn't even new back then.
 


I think Lenglet will be good, but I think this guy is going to impress everybody in the PL and would be brilliant for us at LCB. Odd one because I figure he's very well suited to a three and not so much Woolwich/United who'll play with 2 CB's. ETH might use him in midfield.

Let Conte do his thing on Spence

He turned players like Moses and Darmian into league champions playing on that specific role.

Presumably we took a deliberate pass on him given we’ve obviously been in talks with Ajax over Stevie B.

Can’t recall seeing him play - seems highly rated with just his height being the issue.
