Conte's son?

You think Davies will end up in the LWB rotation? I can't recall Conte using him much if ever there in the second half of this past season...
He used him there once I think. Could see him being used there in a pinch when we have another left footer for lcb. I agree with you though, I think we need 5 for the wingback positions not including Davies. I'd keep Emerson, unless somebody offers 25m for him. Solid player, strong, could see him improving a bit. If we sell him and Reg I'd want us to bring in another on top of Spence.

The issue with just having Spence and Doc on the right is that they're both better going forward than defending. Still think there is merit to keeping Royal around for that reason.
It's not like Doc did poorly, but I could definitely see him being the one sacrificed for squad balance. And unless someone comes in with a very good offer, I don't really see why we would want to move Royal on.

I feel like he could do a decent job at LW and maybe RW in a 3-4-3. Hes got plenty of ball skills and shooting range, and wouldn't need to be running down the wing much since thats what the wingback is for.

Hes a very good player and if he hadn't already stated his dislike for us publicly, I'd be all about it. I just don't feel comfortable having him in the fold knowing that is deep down in his subconscious.

As per my OG post; I'm not denying the guy's key strengths as a player..... I just don't buy the idea that he'd just slot into our plan A without an adaptation period.

Doc is better than Royal in how Conte wants to play with 5 at the back. He can also play LWB and in the midfield if needed in a pinch. Royal is just on the right. I would prefer we keep Royal over Reguilon but I think it would be silly to sale Doc over Royal.

I wouldn't mind him going on loan there, especially if he is going to get game time and develop, else there is not much point. As a defender it will really help him hone in his Defensive skills, also AC Milan are in the CL too, the slower nature of Serie A could be massive in aiding his progression.

I would assume he really wont get much game time with us , could work out well for both, him coming back more complete.

I’m all for loaning him out to a side in Italy….or anywhere for that matter. I just don’t know how much additional game time he’s gonna get there. Can’t imagine that a team that will once again compete for their league championship giving Tanganga any meaningful league minutes

If Saliba counts as HG for Woolwich now, Pape Sarr surely will also for Spurs right?

Both were signed when 18 years of age so that should, if I'm not mistaken give us an academy trained player in a few years time. Ridiculous how it works if true
Saliba doesn't count as HG for Woolwich and never will. Sarr will never count as HG for us.

They have to have be registered to play at the club for 3 years before the end of the season in which they turn 21. If they are on loan, they aren't registered to play for the parent club, they are registered to play for the club they are on loan at.

With Conte's tactics we will already have 5 players on the pitch that are good defensively (3 x CBs and 2 x CMs), so attacking output is much more important in the WB positions.

If we were to have a 5th choice WB, I would rather someone like Carrasco, who as well as being able to play both WB sides, can also play LW (handy considering we will likely just have 1 player as rotation for both LW and Striker) and RW (better than Lucas IMO).

Atletico apparently are intrerested in Emerson and Lo Celso, so maybe a swap deal could be done.
