No idea.

But I do know that you take an exceptionally negative attitude to our transfers most of the time and it irritates me.

So to counter that negativity, I think we’ll get him for £15m plus a packet of kp nuts
That's not being negative, that's being realistic. I didn't say we wouldn't get Maddison at all, I said we won't get him for 50m.

Fine, maybe I'm being nitpicky.

But I'm willing to bet my fat chode that if you were told pre-window that we'd be signing Bissouma for the price we got him you'd have been like 'no chance', or spending £60m on Richarlison!

Do you think we'll sign Maddison at all, out of interest?

We also have Gil, Parrott, Scarlett and Moura who can play in the attacking 3....and of course Lo Celso/Ndombele who'd expect to be part of a 3-5-2.

We would certainly need to see outgoings before any more attacking players come in.

We'll definitely be jettisoning Lo Celso this window, not sure whose going to sign Ndombele (may go out on loan again!)

He has played AM and CM for Leicester as well as the false winger position on the left. So he could in theory play 343 or 352 and he would offer a skill set we don’t have. Doesn’t have to be Maddison but he just seems like the obvious choice. He could be ideal in playing against teams that want to sit deep against us where we need a lock picker.

Teams don't generally sit deep against Lester; how do we know this to be true?

I've asked this before...... No one took up the question.

Referring more to the style of player. His passing and creativity is excellent, if he was off to City that is exactly what they would use him for. Obviously we can’t say 100% he could do it, like we couldn’t say a foreign player even with the quality of Pedri or SMS would 100% work out with us but if Conte is trying to get Maddison then you would assume he believes he is more than capable.

You want us to start a game 3-5-2 with one of Kane, Son, Kulu or Richarlison dropping deep and starting in the 5?????

Why not just sign an ACM ???

Where did I say I'd start anyone there?
I said any of them can drop back into that system. It's called fluidity and something most decent teams are perfectly capable of. We have Conte as coach, not AVB telling players off for moving out of their 5mx5m pitch zone.

Square pegs round holes. Maddison is a proper AM, he is elite in that role, I don’t think Richarlison would be elite becoming an AM.

Maddison IS a proper AM. But he's not much else. So if we're not playing 352 he isn't gonna be on the pitch. Whereas having players who can seamlessly operate both positions means we can do both with no personnel changes required.
I really can't see Conte deviating from 343 from the start of games. I can only really see him changing mid match if it's not working.

I'm not sure but we have a good chance, we have the money and there is something going on at Leicester...supporters are not happy at their lack of business, it looks like they need to sell a couple of players.

Yeah it's really weird what seems to be happening over there. They were the template for how to run things, for a while...no idea wtf has changed!

Not complaining mind, especially if it helps us sign JM.

Their fans are not happy!

As someone else pointed out, every season pretty much they sell a player for big money… Kante, Chilwell, Mcguire, Drinkwater…cant remember the others….this season???

Oh and Mahrez

It's a model that's worked well for them - sell someone for good money, invest in a couple of good/promising players (found through their excellent scouting system), crack on.

And they definitely need to sell to buy this summer - Brendan confirmed it as much recently - all over foxestalk forum.

Leicester have been propped up by King Power covering the bill for years. And King Power make so much off of their money from tax free/duty free stores in airports and the like around Asia.

They have probably taken a massive hit by the pandemic. Their finances are screwed without owner investment. I think something like 90% of their revenue is bound up in player wages, if not more.

By this stage of the 04/05 window we'd signed;
Paul Robinson
Marton Fullop
Pedro Mendes
Sean Davis

In that window we added;
Edman
Atouba
Naybet
Carrick
Ziegler
Paramot

In the winter window we went on to sign
Andy Reid
Michael Dawson
Edson Silva

A few of these were nonentities but a lot of them elevated the club a lot and quickly.
This window has vibes of that window. A lot of players coming in, early, that are fit for purpose.

Yep and being realistic, for someone like Madison, who will be 26 this year, what does he want? Leicester are not gonna be finishing in the top 4 anytime soon. IF they are lucky they might get Europa Conf again but beyond that i cant see that happening anytime soon.

So if he is ambitious he will want to leave.

Throw in Leicesters financial situation and you would think he will go this season, hopefully to us…

Absolutely!

We should treat this transfer like I have my mixed wrestling sessions.

Hard and fast.

Well let’s hope we are in for him or another player like him such as SMS or Paqueta or someone.

and of course we can use winks to entice them too, its a perfect transfer, get in a homegrown player in his peak and get rid of winks too

Plus they sponsor their shirts at £16m a season. It’s Man City but at a much smaller scale.
