He's used many. The idea is that potentially an attacking mid would give us the option of using 3-5-2. Doesn't appear to be a pressing concern, might be something he's open to for all we know, the rest of the window will show us I guess.
Surely if we're loaning him, it's in our best interests to get him out to a Fulham level side, and hope he plays well enough that clubs want to buy him next season. Rennes seems an odd fit.
The good news is that we still have Kane, and if we don't screw it up, will have Kane for at least FOUR more seasons, maybe as many as 6. By the time we need to replace Kane there will be plenty more young talents that will have emerged by then. And there is a non-zero possibility that that player is already on our books (Scarlett/Parrott). In the meantime we did exactly what we needed to- sign a versatile forward who can cover ST and the wings (Richarlison). Besides that we have Son who can stand in up top alright too. We're completely set short term, and already are positioned well for the future. I don't think we need to have such anxiety as a fanbase about this position any longer.
