News Premier League star arrested on suspicion of rape

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

All I would say with this one is just to wait. According to my source - who is far removed from the case but knows people involved - there is no worry from the player and lawyers.
I see one accusation has been discredited by the Met.
Which has been discredited? I think you are missing information if you think that's happened. Or are discounting the woman's statement it was dropped because they couldn't pursue but the law changed 10 days later and it would have not been dropped.

I have no law degree, but for what it's worth it is my understanding that among all States, the legal system in Virginia is the MOST influenced by and predisposed to English Common Law.
Ha, you are slight right...sort of...historically...but current legal decisions in the UK are not part of Virginia law. Especially, as the law on defamation is so different in the two jurisdictions. I think most American lawyers would be appalled by this comment 😂

The second case was in April 2021 against same women and third one is from 2022.

By what she said, he’s guilty as it gets and he paod her to shut up.

Wrong word I apologise- no longer investigated better. As I said my source is far removed; could be bollocks. I don't know but will wait and see before passing judgement.

Well of course current case law are not part of Virginia law.

That's ridiculous on the face of it.

Sky News said there are 3 investigations, 1 is no longer being investigated which is the Spain one but there is another woman who is pressing separately.

Very rare for multiple, separate accusations not to be true, I admit. I could be part of the lawyers' PR machine to spread confidence among the legal community.
I should say I have no details. I will wait though. I left the criminal law a while ago...

You’re obviously clued up mate, any idea on woolwich being penalised for allowing him to continue playing etc? Surely if this happened at a standard company in the real world and they didn’t suspend said employee while under investigation they’d be breaking some sort of safeguarding law etc?

Depends on what the club know. I get the impression they are confident for some reason. Just from a PR move they will be destroyed by this if he gets charged. I mean the whole country will be baying for Atsenal to be destroyed. I can see boycotts by female fans.
I don't do employment law but the club could be breaching their contracts by their inaction. Maybe someone else could provide a better answer but being accused of a crime doesn't necessarily invoke action from an employer unless it harms other employees.
Edit: just asked someone, she said the club almost certainly has the ability to discipline/termination without waiting for a charge or conviction.

The only way he is not is if she was a super hacker and able to fake timing and message data. Therefore there still needs to be a proper trial and he should get his chance to present his side, but it would be one fucking hell of a twist if she was a cyber hacker.
And if she was a cyber hacker there would be much bigger fish to fry. Not that I think she is obvs

I still don’t get why as a footballer with all that talent, money and respect you would throw it all away, even if you are selfish and don’t care about the woman but just yourself.

If your horny all the time just pay for some high end escorts, not like you don’t have the cash to burn.
It’s a power trip. My missus is in behavioural psychology and works with adults who have been abused. Sadly almost all sexual assault or rape cases come from a position of power, in this case the footballer thinks he can do what he likes as he is adored by so many
