Not really much more talk on Zaniolo or a cb for that matter.

The focus for the next 6 days is Southampton with the squad we have

Which? It's not like these 3 are the same kind of player.

Agreed, i was talking about a player who can move the ball quickly, pick a pass between the lines and pull defenders out of position.

You look at some of our games last season and against Seville and Roma (i get it is pre-season) but up until Richarlison game on yesterday we didn't really move the ball at pace, between the lines or passed with intent.

We can't rely on hitting teams on the break, they get wise to it and whether we like it or not defend deep which is nothing new against top sides processing pace.

I think of the options Zanlolo will be more likely than Maddison, because of availability and cost, and it sounds from that i have read that Conte likes him?

I think we'll have a decent enough season if things stay as they are.

By that I mean we should get top 4 and maybe we can grab a domestic cup. Hopefully CL quarters at least.

If we let Japh and Rodon go then I'd expect a CB to come in but maybe it will just be another youth prospect that doesn't really impact our season. I would love a Skriniar type to come in but I don't see it.

In attack it makes complete sense to sign someone who can operate as part of the front 3 and also give Conte the flexibility to play a midfield 3.

Signing these two players would probably cost 100-120m but with all the potential outgoings it is not too unrealistic.

Add these two and I'd back us for top 3 and a cup for sure.

We are yet again taking a risk on RWB however. We need Doherty to find form but more than that we need Spence to be a surprise hit and break into that first team. Having someone who can carry the ball on the right would be major asset. Doherty can be an asset getting on the end of things but he's generally shit with the ball at his feet. Emerson must not play!

...But still; Modric is a conductor of sorts.... Maddison isn't..... Still, not really sure what Zaniolo is tbh.

Taking hype and reporting on face value; one seems no less likely than the other.

sometimes also a set piece is useful to solve this matches. they did that thanks to dybala

I cringed when Kane AGAIN hit the wall. Even he looked fed up with it.

I think we were the second highest goal scorers after City from January onwards last season.

Breaking down team who defend in numbers is difficult for any team (as Klopp said about us last season). We have the finishing in this team we just lack creativity to break teams down, we miss a Modric, Maddison, or Zaniolo?

Forget about yesterdays game, neither team covered themselves in glory, it was a last match fitness tun up.

Zaniolo will make as big an impact as Kulu has, and it's a position that we desperately need.

I'm a tad confused, you rightly point out we create loads of chances but then said we need some one to create more. We just need to make sure we take the chances we make against stubborn teams. Often 1 goal is enough for 2 reasons, they won't score or they'll try to get one and give us more opportunities.

Not saying I'm against signing a "creative player" but we make a lot of chances every game. Ignore shots on target, that's not going to be solved by a different player supplying the ball, that's just match sharpness.

I'd rather replace Moura with another forward, one who has a brain would be nice.

I'm quite happy with our window thus far but I think expectations should be tempered slightly.

What the current signings have done imo is make us the best team outside of Man city/Pool

If we want to take the next step and compete with those two, we will need to spend that extra cash in those two positions you mentioned, especially the creative mid role.

Maybe.

I don't think everything has to be made public before it's done.

Start the season with 4 or 6 points and then it's bonus acquisitions.

Anything less and it suggests trying to plug gaps.

Got a decent chance to make an early statement of intent I feel but also believe we will add one if not two players before the window shuts.

I think we need an addition to Kulu / Richarlison who have the ability to open up space, pick a pass through a tight defence and score a goal or three.

Moura is not and has never been the answer to any of the above.
