Can't really figure it out.
They made a fortune from Kante, Mahrez, Maguire, Chilwell, Drinkwater. There's over £200,000,000 in sales there.
They haven't exactly gone and spunked it all on crap either.
They've been funded by the owner for a long long time. Their wages to revenue ratio pretty bad. They've not made many eye catching signings but they have bought a LOT of players and basically only 2/3 have been genuinely good.

Wtf is happening at Leicester btw not signed anyone and all there best players are under bids from other PL clubs

Strange happenings going on at that club me thinks
They are above revenue on wages. They need to offload two or three of their deadwood to sign players. The only players they have had offers on are ones they do not want to sell in Maddison and Fofana. The keeper situation is not a problem they believe they have two replacements.

I’ve made it several times in this thread.

Sissoko made 58 of his appearances before France were very good and before spurs even signed him. Most in 2010-2013 period when France were really bad. Only 13 caps since we signed him / France reached euro 2016 final.

Rabiot has made all of his appearances since France reached the euro 2016 final when France has been good.

ie. Despite Rabiot being young and Sissoko being in the prime of his career, Rabiot has made 3 times more appearances for France than Sissoko since November 2016.

What the fuck is your point now? :D

Griezmann gets lots of caps for France. He'd still be a really bad signing for Manchester United. International managers are weird and sometimes have players they feel loyalty to or who they happen to trust to do a very particular job.

Rabiot may well be good but not because he's got caps for France or because he plays a lot for the weakest Juventus team in years.

I already deleted my post, after I saw it being mentioned multiple times.

But to answer your question - it just highlights that number of NT caps is shit metric.
Arbitrary and out of context.

Pogba has 91 caps for France - gathered similar time as Rabiot. So... will we now conclude that ManU will replace Pogba with 1/3 of a player?
Or should we conclude that the time Pogba spent in ManU was success cause he had lot of caps for France?

So my point was that this piece of info you provided is absolutely pointless. I do not think it is so hard to understand.

I’m not making the claim he’d be a good signing for Man Utd because he has caps for France. I’m saying he passes the eye test and that he’d improve the options at the base of midfield considerably over Fred and McTominay.

Let’s be honest, most people might have seen at most 4-5 games rabiot has played in without focusing on him and basing most of their opinion on the fact he was linked with us and his mum is a moody cow.

I’m just saying… Deschamps wouldnt let any destabilising players into the french squad… let alone 30 times… that’s a large part of Frances success. And the fact he’s played 350 times for PSG and Juventus should encourage people to watch him before they blithely say hes crap with very little evidence.

But it's stagnation.

Vardy, who has been brilliant for Leicester is nearing the end and aside from the odd couple on players, they are lacking.

I think Rodgers is a very good coach but there is a limit to what he or anyone can do without incoming players .

But Fred has 27 caps for Brazil & has been a starting player for them in recent years. And Brazil are ranked #1 in the world! He's also got 105 caps for Manchester United.

(Just kidding .. I get your overall point. He probably helps them out, I just think it has all the hallmarks of a panic buy and will serve them very little long term, like many of their signings.)

Yeah I agree that signing players for Man Utd without a vision is throwing cash out the window.

They’re like us under Mourinho and Nuno. Largely directionless.

They’ve got the coach right now but it’ll likely take 2 years for them to become competitive IF they start to buy players for Ten Hag’s system and give him time. There are not quick fixes. Set the culture and bring in better suited players.

A bit like we’ve done.

I agree that Leicester are going to have a bad season and this is probably Vardy's last season producing the goal tallys. The fact is if they can survive this season and not sell too many of there jewels and can start to offload a few players, they have a new chief scout coming in for their rebuild and Rodgers guy who made a lot of the bad investments is gone.

France must be fucking awful as that absolute clogger wouldn’t get a cap for my Sunday side

Money is their problem.

- assembled decent squad but financed by owner as Leicester revenue stream not big enough to pay for players
- Wages of squad circa 85% of total revenues = Leicester lose money every day of year.
- Owner's main business is duty free shops in airport, with covid limited flying hence owner struggling for cash, therefore cannot support Leicester as before

Hence club's only way forward is to sell players - but already announced they don't want to sell Maddison and Forfana (their 2 most valuable players). Tielemans was expected to leave as only one year left on contract, but bids have been much lower than Leicester wanted - rumoured that highest bid circa £25m - hence not sold yet.

Leicester pushing 'not for sale' Forfana price to Chelsea up by refusing offers, will Chelsea eventually bid £100m for a player worth £50m to part solve Leicester problems ?

Might explain to some on this board why no serious bid made for Maddison.
