Wow. That's rude. Who says he sits on bench? Those games we struggle in are precisely the reason we don't get closer to competing.

Well, who does he start over?

Because he'd be diabolical in a midfield two. So that means he doesn't start over Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Bissouma or Skipp. He't not particularly good when he plays out wide. So that's Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski safe.

Who are you dropping to start him? Kulusevski? Son?

The games we struggle in are nothing to do with the fact we "lack a creative player". It's everything to do with the fact we usually fail to adapt to our opponent and their system.

Name a team we "struggled" to beat last season or "struggled" to create chances against?

Already wasted 60 mill on ndombele

What's Ndombele got to do with anything?

We signed Ndombele to be a starter in a weak central midfield because we thought he was better than Winks and Sissoko. He was rather coveted and he was linked to some pretty big clubs prior to us signing him.

Maddison is an attacking midfielder, who would be moving from a team where he's the star man, to a team that has a system that doesn't suit him at all and where he wouldn't even start a game in our strongest eleven.

The comparison is ludicrous.

Wind your neck in and stay calm. I expressed the opinion that he's creative and we have, at times, looked incapable of breaking a team down therefore a creative option wouldn't be amiss. You suggested Madison would be a waste of money so I used ndombele as an example of 'we've done it before and may do so again'.
I'm sorry the topic makes you so angry and am happy to have a chilled discourse but not getting into a heated debate over a player I like (my opinion) and you don't (your opinion).
Have a great evening

I'm perfectly calm. I am the one who asked you to name a team we "struggled" to beat last season or "struggled" to create chances against? And it doesn't look like you could.

"Spurs need a creative player" is the laziest quote I see over and over again from Spurs fans, who I am 100% sure, don't watch a full game of football or only look at score lines to suit what they want to believe.

We didn't fail to create chances today. And having James Maddison in the squad today likely wouldn't have made us win the game by a bigger margin. Actually starting the game like we did in the second half would have seen us fare a lot better.

Imagine that!? Same team in the second half as the first half, yet a bit of bravery, a bit of confidence on the ball and all of a sudden we create chances, score a goal and get a win. Lovely.

We had PRIME Eriksen. One of the greatest creative midfielders of his generation starting for us. And guess what? We still had the odd game where we started slow and ponderous and couldn't change things up to adapt to the opponent which in turn would see us lose or fail to score.

Which should tell you all you need to know about the difference between a "lack of creativity" and more than likely a mentality issue.

You are insulting, not ca (as evidenced by the insults).
Am done talking now and shall never interact with you again.
Take care.

Maybe time to change the system occasionally? Right now we have 3 playing upfront half the time with son and kulu up against the back 4 doing little. Son was terrible first half today, his tracking back was embarrassing, he literally jogged everywhere and showed f'all desire to challenge or compete in the first half.

Our 5 at the back has been kind of boring when our wingback cant /won't go forward, we really look flat... Royal was terrible, the lazy cnt was jogging out to his man, any decent player would have whipped in far more crosses - sickening!

A Midfield consisting of two men utterly over run??? Feels like the final days of poch and Jose again. Hoj just ain't good enough on the ball either.

Against a better team we would have been beaten easily today. If Chelsea are crap again this weekend as they were the first, then we have something to worry about.

Going for a 3rd MF sometimes might help us in games and that would have to be an attacking MF so maybe maddison could fit in if we tweaked the formation.

We aren't going to change our system of 343 under Conte, so it's pointless debating it.

We'll occasionally change to a 352 perhaps even the 424 that we saw against Chelsea but again, Maddison doesn't really suit either of those either. So it'd be a colossal waste of money when there are other positions in our team that need strengthening. I'm not even sure he's any more creative than Kulusevski to be honest with you.

Our midfield two of Hojbjerg and Bentancur rarely gets overrun. And if they do, it's because the opponents tactics have been spot on or have specifically targeted midfield as a way of beating us. Chelsea for example last week. That's when Conte earns his money and adapts it in our favour again. Which he did against Chelsea, just (in my opinion) about 30 minutes too late.

"Against a better team we would have been beaten easily today"

Again is a silly argument. We didn't play a better team today, so it doesn't matter. Our tactics and our entire set up would be completely different against a better team. Name better teams than Wolves and I'll show you some games against them where we outperformed and/or didn't get beaten easily.

At times, I feel like people want US to change to a formation to suit Maddison. And that's weird for me. We have a world class winning coach in Conte who has won everywhere he's gone playing the way he does. Yet people want us to change it up to fit in James Maddison lol

His last loan spell he was involved in something like 20 goals. Can't remember the numbers but I think it was something like 8 goals and 12 assists.

Hardly "nothing much."

He's a youngster with immense talent. At £25M I think it's a good buy. If he does enough to merit the add-on's then he'll be worth more than what Forest will end up paying.
Fair enough. 20 odd goal involvements is not to be sniffing at. Although it was in a Championship team that didn’t get promotion, he clearly had an influence.

It seems it was 11 goals in 35 games and 9 assists. Not awful by any stretch. So let’s see how he does this season and come back to this one 👍
