Think the dates might be messed up here.

His first season for us was pretty good. Him and Sandro were a fantastic central midfield pair. We only lost THREE league games Dembele started in that season (12/13). Everton (A), Liverpool (H) and Fulham at home.

His second and third seasons for us though? Pretty poor.

In the 13/14 season AVB had pretty much coached us to be the most boring team possible which hindered Dembele completely. Basically nullified him. Then Sherwood came in and it wasn't much better for him. Failed to make the squad in 9 of his 22 games in charge and subbed off at half time in 2 of his 11 starts.

Onto his third season (14/15) and Poch had come in. But again, not much better for him. I am not entirely sure Poch rated him all that much in the beginning. He only started 10 league games all season and we only won 5 of those 10 games he started in. Rumours of him leaving for Italy came in January that year and we were close to selling him.

It wasn't until 15/16 that we finally started to see the consistent Dembele we came to know and love. Which was four years and three managers into his Spurs career. And even then it took a while to get going. He started the season playing on the right wing and it wasn't really until October of that season did we finally start to realise, damn, Dembele is good. Performance at home to Liverpool. Other than injuries, fitness or suspension, Dembele pretty much started every single league game going forward from then. In the 11 games he missed that year, we only won 4 times.
One of the best players I ever saw at the lane

Just loved watching the guy play football

This 2 man midfield conte likes is a slightly god forsaken task but if ever there was a player who could own it … it would’ve been Mousa

For a few on here who keep on talking about a 'first X1' rather than a squad, here is our fixtures over next few months until World Cup :

Playing weekends and mid week every week is the reason why we bought Richarlison as Kane and Son will be rested for several matches.

Very interested to see what develops over the coming week. A better Kulu rotation than Lucas could make a big difference.

I just hope Atletico have some actual cash - too many Italian and Spanish clubs want to treat loans as them paying no/minimal wages or loan fees, even when they have some money.

Could be a frenetic Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday to end the transfer window as a lot of unwanted players want to find new homes and some clubs decide they can't turn down offers for some players...... and hopefully we can pick up one or two decent players to end an already very good transfer window

Thjnk you've missed out Dembeles injuries, which he had a load of. Certainly Pochs first season he was out a lot and when he did play he was way off.

He barely missed any games through injury in Pochs first season.

Agree, in Poch first season after the first half dozen or so games, Mason and Bentaleb were almost ever present as CM's

Dembele sometimes played as RM, but also on bench.

Start of Poch's 2nd season, Bentaleb and entourage played games maybe over a new contract so he was dropped , allowing Dembele to become a regular CM starter.

I believe Bentaleb and Mason both got injured too.

Dembele started Pochs second season on the right wing and to his credit, actually played well, especially at Old Trafford in a 1-0 loss. Then when Mason got injured scoring a goal against Sunderland, it wasn't long until Dembele took his chance.

Atletico would be huge news if barca were not around. They can't register new signings
