That it's either a BS comment or we are signing some young player with potential. Not a big name out of nowhere.
Is Gil being sold or just loan. Seems like a complete waste of time the whole transfer of leak plus cash. Then out on loan. We basically spent £20m with a player down in the squad.

Palace can't afford to lose Zaha for free and could probably buy a replacement if sold quickly.
In my opinion it would be a good purchase for us but I think it's likely he moves on this window and it's more a question of to where.
With 5 subs now available and our competitions and games he would be one of a very good 6.

I interpreted this as Gil being 99% confirmed as Spurs are likely to find a replacement, rather than a specific Spurs signing being 99% confirmed.
Possibly. He does have a lot of the characteristics Conte likes, he is a hard worker defensively, aggressive, good at ball carrying, scores goals, strong in the air and hold up play is good. Only thing that kind of stands against him is his decision making and selfishness can be a problem. He is a like a more physical version of Raheem Sterling in some ways, brilliant but frustrating.
I kind of get the feeling though that whatever is happening our signing/signings will be out of the blue.

Issue is he broke his leg before his second season and has barely made 10 appearances since. So it's alot of money for someone who may not be the same player.

He did. As stated see if Traore is in the Wolves squad and James played yesterday, and I doubt there is any truth in that bit of speculation whatsoever.
Well, in that case, Zabarnyi may be an ideal buy.
He can spend the season learning Conte's "idea of football" & tactical demands. And step in whenever Dier is injured or needs a rest.
Conte is clear that new players - even of Bissouma or Richarlison's level of PL experience - need time to adapt to his system. With Dier clearly our first choice CCB, that would potentially provide 19-year-old Zabarnyi time to learn & develop, just as we're seeing with Djed Spence.
And I think he is ready for a challenge and all that it brings.

James does not need to come to us just to sit on a bench.
Zaha would 100% be pushing for a starting place and that's what we need.
No point just getting players who are going to sit on the bench.
Can't see it being James at all.
