I know nothing about this guy. Is he like Perisic, but for rwb?

I think we have to be a bit cautious as this Telegraph reporter, Jason Burt, wrongly claimed Madrid were in for Hojbjerg last week.

But yeah, if this is true, your post is onto something.

Strength in depth for front 3:
Kane (CF), Son (LW, RW), Kulu (RW), Rich (LW, CF), Perisic (LW), Carrasco (LW, RW), Lucas (RW)

We can safely sell Gil given the above, and frankly Lucas will not have to be used much either.

For WBs, we actually have too much strength in depth. Perisic Carrasco first choice WBs, with Sessegnon and Emerson as defensively solid rotations. Spence developing youngster. Doherty may as well leave.
What was wrong about the PEH link?

Doesn't Chelski/England have the required doctors to do medicals for incoming players?
It also shows that even though Gvardiol most likely was the number 1 LCB target (yes, I have heard of Bastoni...) they would have been blown out of the water by either Chelski or Man City had he become available...

Josko Gvardiol: RB Leipzig plan to extend star defender’s contract

RB Leipzig will offer defender Josko Gvardiol a new contract that will run beyond 2026, according to Bild.

The player reportedly feels settled in the Bundesliga and could sign the extension despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester City this summer.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel pushed for him earlier in the window and tried to use Timo Werner to sign him, but Leipzig resisted their advances.

Manchester City made an €80 million bid for the player a few days ago. Die Roten Bullen also rebuffed their offer.

Leipzig’s stance on Gvardiol has been clear all summer. They are not willing to sell the 20-year-old and will reject all offers.

The club plans to take things a step further by tying the player down on an even longer contract.

Leipzig will also give the Gvardiol a pay rise to go with the contract extension. The Croatia international currently earns about €2m-per-year, but the new contract will take his salary up to €7m.

It will be the same type of deal that Christopher Nkunku signed when he extended his contract from 2024 to 2026 amid Premier League interest.

Gvardiol is settled in Germany, and his bosses are happy with him too. He has adapted to the German game and could make even further progress with more development time.

He isn’t like Perisic, he is Perisic (inverted LM who can play WB and WF). He’s two footed and can play on the right though rarely does. They are extremely similar players.

That said even at RWB he’d be phenomenal. People may not be able to see it due to the presence of Royal and Doc but our system is begging for his presence. If we put a smart, skilled, fast, and dangerous player with a great cross and shooting ability on the right… man that would open our attack tremendously. Opposing teams give so much space to Emerson it’s a joke. Carrasco who is a wonderful dribbler and free kick taker would eat those 1v1 situations all day long.

A lot of posters pencilling in Carrasco as RW (Kulusevski cover ) or as RWB - but from what I has see he's played about 80% of his matches as LW or LWB.

Its good that he's versatile, but are we sure he can be a regular starting RWB, for example if he's rarely played there - I'm sure great as covering RWB from time to time but regular starter ?

It's happening, Johnny on the Spot here has just confirmed it: Yannick Carrasco

'Need things to drop in to place'

Well he's not coming in to start over Perisic or Son is he?

Carrasco i like, talented player and dangerous in attack and counter BUT he is also shithouser ;) and no push over , he is a fighter in the good sense and great physicality, would fit in PL no issues, very Conte-esque player all round. Only thing with im is he is predominately a left sided player although right footed, cant see him being RWB plus we are over loaded a bit on that side, he defo can play LW but we have richy too, maybe unpopular but id play Carrasco over Sess everyday of the week
