He can combat that. He can keep the ball and take it into their 3rd. We don't need him to put in Beckham style 45 yard crosses onto a tuppance. He just needs to release the ball to a team mate.

Mate that is his problem finding a team mate his crossing and possession is poor.

You may have hit the nail on the head there. When he came on against us, we immediately swapped out Perisic for Sessegnon and had 3 players smother him as soon as he got the ball.

2 or 3 men on Traore means 2 or 3 men no longer marking Kane and Son.

If we can get him for 10-15m its a no brainer. He's only 26 years old. Whilst he may be limited, his one trick can be very impressive in the right system.

Conte was really having sleepless nights how to stop the mercurial winger that is Traore...
I mean he has scored whopping 3 goals with 2 seasons + 4 games into this season.

Conte had Plan A, Plan B, Plan C and Plan D to stop this remarkable talent.

And it clearly had nothing to do with the fact he has made substitution in LWB position I think EVERY SINGE GAME this season. And that doubling up on winger is part of our regular defensive structure.

No, it was all about one of the best footballers on the planet and how to stop him... :D

P.S all the sarcasm aside - once more - between Dan James and Traore, I'd take the latter.
But I would take Gil and even Doherty as RW option above both.
 
Conte’s strategy of removing unwanted players from first team training has worked. Ndom, GLC, Reg, Rodon and Winks all out the door albeit on loans
 
Really good squad at present but we are going to fall short unless we add a certain je ne sais quoi.

I simply cannot get past that feeling.

Richarlison adds something but I just think we need a wee bit more.
 
I'll honestly be very underwhelmed if we get Adama. I don't get the hype that some people have for him.

I'll give him a chance if it happens. But we can get better players than Adama Traore.

Being what?

Appreciate you're no more of a scout than I am. But I'm struggling to see who we can actually sign that improves us now. When you're saying Je ne Sais Qoui, I assume you mean from a forward point of view, IE attacking flair etc?
I totally believe Conte does not want a specialist AM and won't change the front 3 to accommodate one.

Completely agree. I don’t know enough about some/many of the potential signings to comment really.

I have seen enough of Adama not to want him anywhere near our team. Respect that some really want him but I’m an old fart born and raised (blah blah blah) on the Tottenham ‘way’ and think a footballer should possess the ability to control and pass the ball well, then to add something a little extra. Fair enough if those here (& maybe Conte too) think we need speed and muscle - the way we are set up you may be right.

We still don’t seem to have properly sorted RWB and LCB - not getting the personnel we really wanted.

As for some je ne sais quoi - I’d relish a real statement, surprise, headline grabbing signing which none of the internet mouthpieces could predict. Probably too much to ask…

I have no idea if I'm honest.

It's very hard to articulate and in terms of a player I couldn't say.

We can't buy better than Kane, we won't get a better defender than Romero. Lloris is pretty much as good as anyone. Son will reignite and Richarlison fizzes.

Kulusevski is doing what we have lacked since Eriksen and is like a mix of Berbatov and Bale.

So maybe it's central midfield but we won't get better for now and neither am I sure that's the answer.

I simply believe that if we don't buy that added whatever that we will regret it.

Make sense of that if you can.
