I agree with you - not sure our CBs can create. I think for them its just what you do to try and create a man advantage somewhere in attack (ie its tactically imperative) while playing with an "extra" defender (the classically italian way).
Conte already showed a willingness to go 4-2-3-1 though, and against Chelsea at that, so I wouldn't worry that he will be too inflexible when needed.

He’s only been at Leicester 2 years IIRC and has been injured for a lot of that time.
I confess I don’t watch Leicester every week but he never stood out as an £80m defender to me
