Lo and behold, a few months later and the same discussions are being made by Spurs fans on Chelsea's potentially new shiny toys.
Embarrassing.

we have not made an ambitious signing yet, wait let me retract, dan james
I agree with you - not sure our CBs can create. I think for them its just what you do to try and create a man advantage somewhere in attack (ie its tactically imperative) while playing with an "extra" defender (the classically italian way). Not sure our CBs can create though. Also not sure other teams won't be happy to have them being our outlet. Dier romero Davies, if I was the manager of another team I'd be happy to let that happen all game.... To be honest I doubt conte would see it any differently - allowing the CBs to have the ball is almost an Italian tactic of choice. I'm not against the idea of our tactics I'm just like the idea of having options.
Richarldson made a huge difference in that game - they didn't know what to do with him - loved that!I agree with you - not sure our CBs can create. Conte already showed a willingness to go 4-2-3-1 though, and against Chelsea at that, so I wouldn't worry that he will be too inflexible when needed.
Was it modelled on Ossie Ardiles?

Dan James - Rolls Royce playerRicharlison - excellent signing and made a big impact in his limited time so far
Romero - superb player
Perisic - already shown his class
Bissouma - when he gets up and running, we all know what he can do.

Are people still saying we haven't done much this window?
Of course it doesn’t. But come on, Maguire has never been, and never will be, on the same level as either van Dijk or Fofana.

They spent £70m on Havertz, nearly £60m on Pulisic and £55m on Werner, who all looked great in Germany, and they've been mostly crap.90 mill euros so what around 80 mill give or take for a 20 yr old centre back who can give chelsea 10 yrs of service, fofana and gvardiol they are building for the future
It's alright, your Blues get another crack on Saturday vs Spam.
The loan back is what I can't get my head around. It's such a riskThey spent £70m on Havertz, nearly £60m on Pulisic and £55m on Werner, who all looked great in Germany, and they've been mostly crap.
Gvardiol looks extremely talented, but 90m on a 20yo center back who's getting loaned out for a year is no guarantee of a set defence for the next decade.
Not to mention all of the outgoings, which are often more difficult than purchases.Forster

Look, if money is no object, the player looks a decent bet. If we announced a similar deal in the morning I'd be very excited. But spending big money on talented players doesn't cancel out all the variables down the line. The loan back is what I can't get my head around. It's such a risk

Still annoyed at his lucky golazo against us.
