What has Fofana done to be mentioned in the same sentence as VD?
He’s only been at Leicester 2 years IIRC and has been injured for a lot of that time.
I confess I don’t watch Leicester every week but he never stood out as an £80m defender to me
Maguire was £70 CB from Leicester. That’s the bench mark. Stupid move by Chelsea but a fool and their money etc.

God, if he’s our number 1 target, then I’m shit scared of who the “Contingency plan” is.

Look, if money is no object, the player looks a decent bet. If we announced a similar deal in the morning I'd be very excited. But spending big money on talented players doesn't cancel out all the variables down the line.
I guess I'd be excited but also concerned? 90m would be a massive gamble for us, and has the potential to really cause some longer term damage if it doesn't work out.

That being said, this isn't really all that new to Chelsea seeing as they loaned Lukaku out to Inter, which they also spent a 100mil on.

''Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a late bid to prise Dan James away from Leeds United with Antonio Conte keen on the attacker.

According to the Daily Mirror, there are talks about a loan move with an obligation to buy, but Leeds are not entertaining the prospect of an exit in any form as Marsch sees him as a key part of his plans.

After selling Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, they do not want any other big-name players leaving Elland Road this summer.''

Forster

Sarr not going out on loan.
Romero signed 5 yr contract

Are people still saying we haven't done much this window?
The level of IQ for Spurs fans are pretty low. This is the best window we’ve had in a long time. All the players are immediately providing.

If we spent a billion dollars they would say we didn’t spend it right.

I agree.

Naby Keita looked outstanding for RB Leipzig, and the dippers had to do a similar deal to the one the chavs have just done with Gvardiol - a big transfer fee for a player who stayed in Germany for a season.

Keita has not developed into a dominant PL CM and there are suggestions the dippers are now looking to get rid.

I suspect RBL told interested clubs "if you want Gvardiol, the price is 90m and he stays with us for a season". The chavs agreed to that structure, but no other club would.

I note there were rumours linking shitty to Gvardiol but, as with Cucurella, Guardiola / Begiristain didn't bite at that price.
